Does high monitor brightness worsen judder?

Post by owlo11 » 19 Apr 2025, 15:25

I’ve been using my monitor at 70 brightness (max 100), and the judder feels really bad. But when the background is dark, I don’t see the judder at all. Is this just a placebo effect?

Well, the better the visibility in general is, and higher brightness improves visibility, it follows that judder will also be more visible.

To be honest, I don’t quite understand. I just lowered the brightness, so why does the judder disappear and everything look smoother?
