So you set the scaling mode in NVIDIA to GPU and override scaling mode ticked on?

Simply put, my monitor has broken scaling.... this monitor is not for gaming, even though it is 240 hertz....

It's impossible to describe exactly how you feel when playing, but there is a heavy model and mouse effect and the reason for this is broken monitor scaling!
people, buy functioning monitors!
Don't know what we're talking about? This user recorded a very high quality video!

P.S. the problem is not electrical interference, EMI, etc.

how do I know which monitor is working?

I will show you benq zowie and asus as examples!
1. benq zowie xl2546
the monitor must have a driver!

XL2411P
(if anything you should not buy this monitor in 2025 because the monitor is officially unsupported for a very long time and it is not known if the monitor scaling works properly with new GPU drivers and on new windows systems!!!!)

Back in the old-school days these resolutions were trending, I remember some hardcore players recommended playing at 120 hertz on this monitor, but I didn't understand why and always played at 144 hertz and had a bad gaming experience

I do not recommend buying these two monitor models XL2540K/XL2546K as they have only one resolution at which there will be no scaling bug.
I wrote this just in case since there are pro gamers who advertise these monitor models, but these models are not for true competitive gamers!!!

application can store information about its scaling, checking the box for "override the scaling mode" is not bad
you can experiment with EDID and native resolution in CRU, I have a 27 inch msi monitor which has a crappy scaling implementation. I managed to get the screen scaling correct, display gives the gpu the unscaled image and gpu stretches it to full screen.

Also in cs2 I faced a problem that after alt-tab scaling broke, and I got a soapy blurry image. To fix this you need to change the value of the variable “setting.fullscreen_min_on_focus_loss” to “1” in the .txt file of the video game settings, the path to this file Steam/userdata/\(userId)/730/local/cfg

It's not a solution to the problem. The problem is on another level.

On such monitors it is impossible to fix it.... It is necessary to buy a monitor that is in good working order before buying a monitor, check the manual!!!!!!

xl2546s and xl2566k is broken?

2546s in my case was very clear, and display scaling vs gpu scaling difference was noticeable. Even on 10 clarity, xl2566k is worse than xl2546s on 7.

but, xl2566k has preset 768 and 960. I just remove all resolutions except 1080 and 960. and I can use scaling (no scaling) and everything will scale correctly

No.
If I had a choice between xl2546s and xl2566k, I would choose xl2546s.
