broken scaling cause of heavy/floating mouse, desync, heavy car bug, input lag etc
Re: broken scaling cause of heavy/floating mouse, desync, heavy car bug, input lag etc
Guys, you have to understand something, I am not an employee of zowie, asus, etc. and so if you don't understand something, you don't need to ask me, write to the monitor manufacturer's tech support or see the monitor's manual!
Re: broken scaling cause of heavy/floating mouse, desync, heavy car bug, input lag etc
may I ask then how most pro players used and still use with no issues the XL2546K that have no preset for DP 1280x960@240hz?

I just wanted the answer of the true competitive player

I was asking because I just play native
but be as rude as you want to

Re: strange behavior of the monitor and NVIDIA!
I don't recommend using this guide.n1ghtik wrote: ↑01 May 2025, 13:11i had the same issue before, just sharing my experience here
1. completely delete everything from your cs2 steam cloud files. Here’s the link to your cloud storage:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/ ... ?appid=730 your final result should look like attached screenshot (size of each file should be 0 bytes)
2. uninstall CS2 and also delete the local temp files in:
Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/(your steamID)/730/local
After that, disable steam cloud sync for cs2 permanently, better just turn off steam cloud globally in your profile settings, that feature is super buggy...
2. reset your monitor’s EDID data using CRU (just run reset-all.exe from the CRU folder).
3. reset your monitor to factory settings. After applying your custom settings, make sure any sync tech is turned off (adaptive sync, g-sync, freesync).
4. do a clean install of your NVIDIA drivers — doesn’t matter if it’s through DDU or manually.
5. NVCP post install: NVIDIA Control Panel 3D settings, manually disable vertical sync, g-sync, etc. Don’t touch GPU performance modes.
6. Disable Xbox DVR and Windows Game Mode entirely.
important: don’t mess with CPU priorities or core layouts for CS2 or anything related (like Faceit AC client, AC service, or Steam services).
tips on how to avoid client-side desynchronization in the future:
If the problem only happens when faceit AC is on, it might be overlay-related. faceit AC quietly launches the game in untrused mode — basically, when you launch with Faceit AC, it enables -allow_third_party_software.
it is better to reinstall the nvidia driver if you change the monitor or even change the type of monitor connection (alternate between different versions of hdmi, displayport).
personally, I don’t recommend changing EDID resolutions via CRU. A lot of people do it without reading the README. best way to avoid future desync problems: only use CRU for calculating timings. in other words - create a custom res in NVCP, but use timings copied from CRU.
also don’t recommend using any 3rd party process exploring software, he may be misleading you, some such programs retain their changes after closing.
one last thing I don’t recommend using the same desktop resolution as your in-game res.
Re: broken scaling cause of heavy/floating mouse, desync, heavy cur bug, input lag etc
The weird part is that esports pro mode isnt a 'mode' its just a few resolutions and it sets that as your monitor res. Then you need to change the scaling from aspect to full screen within the monitor osd but the issue is when you go on valorant 1280x960 etc is not full screen regardless of any settings on nvidia, there are large black bars on top and bottom. A weird thing I found is that when you choose 1280x1024 sometimes it will be full screen but you can change to 1280x960 ingame and it will be full screen.naporitan wrote: ↑08 May 2025, 17:02You need to activate Esports Pro ModeBlurWickd wrote: ↑08 May 2025, 15:53I've been losing my mind with this monitor for a year now. The scaling on this monitor is fucking terrible and there hasn't been a driver update since 2023. The esports pro mode is unuseable in valorant unless u want to play with huge black bars on the top and bottom of your screen so there are no good resolutions to play. Ever since I've used this monitor I feel like I can't aim whether its using 360hz with dsc off, 500hz or 540hz. ULMB makes things look smoother but makes mouse inconsistent. I'd have RMA'd it 6 months ago but I accidentally scratched the screen lol.

if you look at the monitor manual, you need to enable DSC and Overclocking for correct scaling
to get 540 hertz you need windows 11 latest version

Use the correct scaling settings in the NVIDIA panel!

and btw thank you for confirming what I've thought but struggled to find info about for a long time

This monitor is not suitable for competitive players! The point is that just because a monitor has a high refresh rate doesn't mean it's suitable for competitive gaming!
