Hi! Are sides darker like on x+ zowie monitor?
Is image sharp on low resolution like 1280x960?
Super sharpness is that bad?
Is response time slow?
Everyone saidn248qp is netter than 86x. Is any difference between 248qp and this at motion clarity?
Sides don't look darker to me.
I am playing CS2 on 1280x960 without AA, plays fine. Not as sharp as native, but normal for the res I guess.
I don't like the super sharpness setting, not using it.
Response times are fine.
I can't compare it with the PG248QP because I sold it. Maybe with ULMB slightly better, but not worth double the money.
Dude. I cant say how much i appreciate that you responded. I send back 3 times xl66x+ bcs of coulwhine and shadowed sides.
I do have one more question about your gpu if you can and want to answer. First i will thank you for your effort. I want to buy this monitor in next days.
I want to record my gameplays and i use capture card. Is there anychance to check if the image is oversharped using two monitors in duplicated mode? I save money for rx 9070 and rdna 2 and 3 got that issue. It s fine if you dont want. Thank you so much!

I can't test that for you, my old monitor is already in the box. Besides, I would be comparing 24" 1080p vs 27" 1440p, different pixel densities.
I did not notice any oversharpening, so I think you are good to go.

So first impressions, I wasn't
blown away by the strobing, I mean it's the best I've ever seen but you can still see crosstalk in the top portion of the screen at speeds 1400+ on UFO test. I was expecting that aspect to be better but from what I've seen it's no worse than the other 540hz panels. What also annoyed me a lot was that VRB locks the brightness, and it is
super bright. I guess approaching 300nits, I usually use a screen around 200nits. So for me the VRB brightness was actually too much, I would have loved a pulse width setting to make the strobing stronger and reduce brightness. I ended up adjusting the colour settings and using a higher gamma to make the screen feel dimmer.
Colours - this is my first TN in like a decade. I was expecting it to be shit...and it really isn't. The colours are great. I had to fiddle with the settings for a few hours (panel was leaning warm and oversaturated) but now it looks fantastic. As good as any IPS I've owned from front on. As I said on another post it's 10bit, and if you turn off DSC you're stuck with 422 colour compression but 540hz still works.
For the money (I got it for 500 quid) it's a complete no brainer. Why would you pay twice as much to have slightly better OSD settings? 540hz feels fantastic and the strobing keeps the action clear. Oh one more thing the joystick control on mine feels so trash!

Overall I give the product an 8/10, value for money I give it an 11/10. Acer are still selling the 390hz IPS for nearly £500!
Hello, can you test for us by setting up the VRB Mode to Normal to see if it makes the crosstalk disappear?

Just received the XV242F today. I have also used the Asus PG248QP for a month or so, but sold it because I did not think it was worth €620.
I have been using the AOC AG273QZ for a couple of years now, but 27" is not ideal, and the panel has several defects (visible vertical lines when motion is displayed, weird stutters).
First impression of the Acer: very smooth, no perceivable input lag, menu is quick to navigate, tons of settings. No high pitch sound when running the monitor at 360hz+, which the Asus PG248QP did have, which was very annoying. I had my desktop on 240hz to avoid the high pitch, and while gaming I used a headset. The Acer does not have this issue, except when I turm VRB on. At "normal" the pitch is quite low volume, on "extreme" it is very noticable without a headset. However, while playing CS2 it doesn't bother me.
UFO test: looks good, don't think my 30 year old eyes could notice the difference between this and a slightly faster response time.
Bought the monitor for €310 new in box in the Netherlands. Absolute steal if you'd ask me. The 600hz monitors are coming soon, and the Acer one is supposed to cost €850. That was the main reason for me to buy the XV242F now.
I also thought about an oled monitor, but I really prefer 24" monitors for gaming. Much less eye-strain and just a better "feel" for the game.
If you guys have any questions let me know. I could not find a lot of info on this monitor, so I am happy to help you guys out.

yeah there is no full review of this monitor in youtube except from a korean youtuber. Do you see any ghosting or crosstalk in the monitor? Also what setting do you use?

I purchased this monitor some months ago and I just happened to watch the korean youtube review and it was discussing how the input lag improved with updated firmware I believe? I looked on the acer site and can't find the firmware for download. Has anyone else who has this monitor updated the firmware and noticed improvements with it? Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing about the seemingly missing updated firmware so I contacted Acer about it. I'll let you know what they say.

VRB on normal is just a bit blurrier but it doesn't change the crosstalk characteristics. I think the tuning could be better, but ultimately this is a single strobing backlight display so there will be worse zones on the display in terms of crosstalk. I see it worst at the top, and best at the bottom. I've read the new 600hz versions have dual backlight strobing which should improve crosstalk performance but I haven't proved that myself.
