Need Opinions on Desync Fix

Hey everyone,

Skipping right to the point. I'd like you to change your "Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames" in Nvidia Profile Inspector to 0x00000008 instead or Use 3D Application Setting or 0x00000001 as most people suggest for lowest latency. Change this setting and play the game in which you face desync or are killed at inhuman reaction times by your enemies.

So I mainly play Valorant and I've seen benefit by changing this setting. It's been 3 days since and its been working for me. Normally, it would be extremely difficult for me to kill even Ascendant/ Diamond ranked players, but now I can take my time and shoot them without get 180'd with 4 body shots before I can react.

If we're talking numbers, upon changing these settings, I saw a reduction in the in-game CPU Game Time graph, wherein went from an average of 3.6ms [fluctuating between 3.2- 6.0ms] to a more stable 3.1ms in range without any bots spawned. With bots, previously it was around 7-11ms but now it doesn't cross 6.8ms consistently. The same extends to competitive too.

I'm not very knowledgeable but my theory is that the CPU prepares frames beforehand for the GPU to utilize. I suspect that when it's needed the most, i.e. during your gunfights, one frame in advance is not enough to process multiple things occurring during gunfights creating a bottleneck losing you your rounds. By changing this setting you might as well give the GPU an overload of frames to decide from what to do with, creating a more fluid and responsive gameplay experience.

It's quite counter-intuitive, but I'd like to hear from others if it works or not.

Hey do you leave low latency mode on or turn that off? I was under the assumption that low latency mode would need to be turned off to see the benefits of higher number of pre rendered frames. Thoughts?
