Asus PG32UCDP vs. LG 32GS95UE

Hello, I'm very interested in getting a new monitor but I'm undecided as to which one I should get. Currently, I have a Gigabyte FI32Q-X. It's a SS IPS 32" 270hz 1440p and I really like it but I'm going to RMA it because it developed a bunch of purple shadows along the edges of the screen. I play both competitive and single player games, which is why the OLEDs with dual mode really caught my attention. My ideal monitor upgrade would be a 32" OLED that could switch between 1440p and 1080p with high refresh rate. Unfortunately the max size for 1440p OLEDs 16:9 is 27" and I really don't want to downgrade the screen size. I also think that I will struggle to play games at 4K at at least 120 FPS even though I have 7900 XTX card. I can barely run Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p at stable 120 FPS with high settings. So I've been wondering if these 4K dual-mode monitors would be worth it for me.

My main concern is, if I play at 1440p how much worse would it look due to these monitors being 4K native? What would look better between using 1440p resolution on the 4K mode, or using 1440p with AMD's Virtual Super Resolution on the 1080p mode? Also, I have not been able to find any concrete information about the LG 32GS95UE refresh rate at 1440p. If anyone knows, please let me know. I know the Asus PG32UCDP can do 240hz at 1440p because it says so on the owner's manual, but it's not clear for the LG. The Asus one is more expensive than the LG, so I'd go with the LG if it can do 240hz at 1440p.

Maybe the PG27AQDP would be a better choice, but I'd really like that 1080p mode for more FPS in my competitive games.
Besides gaming I also watch movies, anime, TV and lots of YouTube videos, etc. I've heard that OLEDs suck for motion clarity at low FPS, so I'm wondering how bad will anime and movies look considering they run at 24 FPS.

I'm wondering what new OLED monitors could come out this year that would fit my needs, so I don't know if I should buy something now or wait, but I don't have very high hopes for a 32" 1440p OLED.

If you want to keep the 32" size and enjoy the OLED experience, dual-mode 4K models like the LG 32GS95UE or Asus PG32UCDP are good choices, but playing 1440p on a 4K panel will be a bit dimmer than native 1440p; in that case, playing 1440p in 4K mode is usually better than upscaling from 1080p. The Asus definitely supports 240 Hz at 1440p, while the LG has not confirmed. If FPS is a priority for competitive games and you're okay with the reduced size, the PG27AQDP might be a better fit, but if you want a good cinematic experience, OLED is fine for 24 FPS anime/film thanks to the contrast, but slight motion blur is unavoidable.

Marie, 1440p on a 4K OLED will look a bit softer but still sharp, and better than 1440p VSR on 1080p mode. If the LG does 240 Hz at 1440p, it’s likely the better value over the Asus.

I agree, if you're sticking with 32", the LG 32GS95UE and Asus PG32UCDP are definitely the top OLED picks right now.
