Friends... I've literally tried everything.

Here's a short list:

1.) Switched from DOCSIS internet (1GB / Vodafone) to VDSL internet (250 Mbps / Telekom) = ping dropped from ~12ms to 5ms, but gaming was still terrible
2.) Bought the Asus DSL-AX82U = Still terrible
3.) Tried Windows 10, Windows 10 ReviOS, Windows 11, and Windows 11 ReviOS = Still terrible
4.) Tried every conceivable tweak = Still terrible (if it was good once, it was still terrible without tweaks)
5.) Switched back to DOCSIS internet (1GB / Vodafone) = Still terrible
6.) AMD 7800X3D + Asus B650 + DDR5 = Still terrible
7.) AMD 9800X3D + Asus B650 + DDR5 = Still terrible
8.) Stock BIOS = Still terrible
9.) BIOS OC = Still terrible
10.) Smartphone as a router (USB) = From good to terrible
11.) Asus router connected to Fritzbox = Still terrible
12.) Router restart = Still terrible
13.) Disable Wi-Fi = Still terrible
14.) 3x FritzBox 6690 Cable = Still terrible
15.) 1x FritzBox 6670 Cable = Wait and see (but I think terrible)
16.) NordVPN = Terrible
17.) Exit lag = Sometimes good, sometimes terrible (if good = good without)

My problem:

1.) VDSL line belongs to Telekom. No matter the provider = Always Telekom infrastructure (terrible)
2.) DOCSIS line belongs to Vodafone. No matter the provider = Always Vodafone infrastructure (terrible)
3.) No third line available from other providers
4.) 4G/5G is always overloaded, according to people here
5.) Rented apartment

I don't need snake oil. I need a solution.

Test 4G and 5G on your own using a proper router preferably with external antenna, not your phone, if it's a rented flat then just move out. No other solution is possible.

I'm already looking for a suitable plan.

5G + unlimited data + no contract term + router incl.

A funny thing happened yesterday.

It was running terribly again. Then I changed something in the system, and suddenly it was running so well. It was running perfectly. I wanted to wait a bit longer before telling you. After 9 p.m., it slowly got worse and worse until it was terrible again. It wasn't running well because of my changes. It was a coincidence. I was just lucky that the internet wasn't under much load for once.

It seems like the load is simply too high here. Too many people. Maybe the system starts bundling packets at a certain load?

New Fritzbox (since yesterday) + better results + same terrible experience

I still believe that a problem with the ISP can be clearly identified and measured.

I can't make anything visible/measurable here. YES, DAMN IT, it feels like an ISP problem, but why can't I see it? Can't measure it? Can't prove it? WTF?

Because it is not an ISP issue really and has nothing to do with that what you exprience and feel and see...

Soon we gonna know what rly the issue is...

100% of his problems are ISP related
I've been working with network related things for quite a while, and I know a bit about how this stuff works, all the way down to the "Layer 1" level. However, I'm always happy to learn new things. I am genuinely curious about what you saw in OP's description, pictures or other statements which tells you with 100% confidence that his ISP must be at fault. From what I've read and seen here, I wouldn't come to that conclusion, but I might be lacking critical information. You seem very confident, to the point where you call others a

I'm open for new insights that might have flown underneath my radar for the 20 years or so that I've been dealing with computers and networks. I know for you this is absolutely obvious and you're very likely a 160+ IQ genius, but us mere mortals aren't as knowledgeable as you, so please take 5 minutes out of your highly valued time to explain to us peasants what's making you so confident. Thanks a lot.
