Windows has an unknown effect on controller input.

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

Windows has an unknown effect on controller input.

The problem is that changing absolutely any settings affects the sensitivity curve. In games, changing sound settings, chat, interface, etc. affects the input. Turning any checkbox on or off affects the input. With these changes, the control becomes either sluggish or sharp. Changing any text or even a letter in the game affects the input. Each number in the settings has its own peculiarity of influencing the input, if you set numbers 1, 3, 4, 9 somewhere, the control is sharp, with the rest, on the contrary, sluggish, the number 7 makes the control sharp and adds a dead zone. For example, the sensitivity of the controller in the game 1.40 will be more sensitive than 1.50. The combination of these numbers also gives a different effect. Now about the system, there is the same thing, for example, changing the volume in the tray affects the input, you might think that this is related to the sound drivers, but this is not the case, the numbers from 0 to 100 on the volume scale have an effect and the same thing happens with the system clock, the numbers there are constantly changing and they affect the input, the sensitivity of the controller is constantly changing. I also noticed that the mouse affects the controller input, or rather the numbers that are specified in the dpi settings and the polling frequency. This is not a placebo. I tried many methods from the Internet, in the BIOS settings, system, peripherals, nothing helped. Maybe someone has encountered such a strange problem, help me solve it.
My system, RTX 3060, R 5 5600, RAM 16gb, asrock b450 m pro4,
Unreal engine game.

who knows man, maybe youve discovered some underlying weird windows bug. if you truly have tested it. i've also noticed some weird things too. changing settings does change feeling for a bit agreed. who knows.

I’ve 100% noticed this a few times before.
On apex , changing any setting makes the game feel different. I’ve said it to my friends before

From FOV, to mouse cursor speed, to even lobby music volume. They have all acted as *fixes* for me before.

I haven’t got deep into it as u are noticing the exact #s doing different things. But i will for an absolute fact agree that random menu settings affect my response curve / sensitivity

*edit
It’s for sure happening to me on console tho. Wouldn’t lean too far into saying it’s windows

It's most likely the electrical/unknown source of issue we have. I have same things happen also. And also it can happen with changing some external factors also. Happens on most games. Even on desktop with the mouse speed changing. Also happens on console. So not Windows issue.
