I want to know which OLED monitors today have the strongest / most flexible BFI (black-frame insertion) / strobing capabilities. Which models support BFI at high refresh rates (240Hz+).
I’ve seen the new “tandem OLED” panels coming (brighter, more durable) — should I wait for those instead of buying now? What trade-offs might there be (e.g., BFI support, availability, cost, firmware maturity)?
I also play games like elden ring that are locked to 60fps so I also care about low input lag at 60hz.
I am currently looking at the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWMG.
Which OLED monitors currently have the best implementation of BFI?

It depends what you mean with "best implementation"mrsamstar wrote: ↑Yesterday, 19:53I want to know which OLED monitors today have the strongest / most flexible BFI (black-frame insertion) / strobing capabilities. Which models support BFI at high refresh rates (240Hz+).

If you mean having pulse width adjustability, no BFI implementation as of Q4 2025 does that.
If you mean refresh rate adjustability, no BFI implementation as of Q4 2025 does that. It's fixed to 1/2 the refresh rate. Rare exception is the LG C1, which is able to get ~2,7ms MPRT at it's 120Hz mode.
If you mean a as-low-as-good-LCD-strobing MPRT target, only the 540Hz WOLED at it's 280Hz mode gets ~1,851ms MPRT (time-domain equivalent of 540Hz)
This is, of course, talking about HW BFI.
Software BFI is a bit more adjustable, though the only models where I'd recommend using it are +480Hz WOLED or 500Hz QD-OLED panels.
I'm unaware of the intrinsics of SW BFI though, someone else can chime in.
