BEST WISHES EVERYBODY AND CS LAGG 7 YEARS

Post by valhalla » 31 Dec 2025, 10:04

Hello everyone, my name is Jeffrey. I'm 35 years old and have been gaming for quite a few years. I always thought I'd stop before I turned 30, but apparently that never happened. I'm creating this thread because I'd like to connect with people who have the same problem.

The problem I've been experiencing for the past 7 years is input lag/tearing.

I'm using a Dutch-to-English translator for this. I hope it all goes well.
I've been playing Counter-Strike since 1.3... I quit Source due to time constraints and a bad computer, and started again with the Pro Mod... CS Go. CS 2.
The problem started halfway through CS Source... input lag that won't go away.

The problem is... it feels like the game is lagging behind. Moving feels like I'm walking through mud and the rest of the players aren't. I noticed it immediately, I completely reinstalled Windows, I started CS2 for the first time... the game felt great... I moved my mouse from left to right... at 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, and 4000Hz, all absolutely fantastic... the shooting and movement felt great, I closed CS, restarted my computer, and the input lag that came with it never went away.
I mainly had this problem with CS2, but I also felt it as soon as I started Valorant (the problem feels less severe there, but it's there). I'm a CS player, so maybe I just don't know how movement in Valorant should feel?

I've literally tried everything.
* a different Steam account
* I've tried quite a few new PC systems and monitors over the past 7 years
* I've tried Linux, Windows 10, Windows 11 (of course, there are differences here and there, but the problem persists)
* different internet providers
and so on
* What's particularly striking is that when I reinstall Windows... or when I install a different GPU, everything works fine the first time, but then the lag persists.

I live in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Fiber optic internet was installed here last year, so the internet is excellent. My problem also occurs offline.
Last year, I renovated the entire ground floor (new 3-phase power connection). It's on the same power grid, of course.

* I have some kind of filter between my computer and the power outlet (it feels better, but it hasn't gone away).
* This problem also occurs offline, especially when I start a GAME with bots (it feels better without bots).
* FPS + 500 Hz + 400 Hz, mouse 1000/2000 Hz, everything is fine. I've been messing around with computers since I was 12.
* Of course, I've tried everything... and a lot of things seemed to help, but that was only a temporary fix... How is that even possible? A temporary solution; everything from the PC world makes this problem so illogical...
* I suspect many more people are experiencing this problem, but they simply never experienced the game properly, so they don't notice it.
The topics linked to this on Blurbusters are, of course:

Broken scaling caused by heavy/floating mouse, desync, heavy car bug, input lag, etc.

the thing i want to try now is buy a home battery, because i think its power related....
but my worries are, it good also be a magnetic field or anything ? but everytime i have a solution for an hour... and it dont work i get more irritated...i just dont get it....... i solved over 1000 computer problems in my life.... and i quited past 2 years and i am now gaming againt for 5 months ... and the only game what i really like is cs2... but that is the game where i feel the lagg the most...

You haven't mentioned the exact components which you've used throughout the years, which opens up the room for the discussion of bad HW choices. This comment alone can be a red flag.

From your steam profile, I can see the following:
CASE : nzxt h1 v2 white
MOTHERBOARD : MSI MPG Z790I EDGE WIFI
CPU : Intel Core i7 13700K
CPU COOLER : NZXT liquid cooled
GRAPHIC CARD : GeForce RTX 3070 Inno
POWER : NZXT 850W
MONITOR : ASUS ROG Swift PG248QP 540HZ
KEYBOARD : DUCKY MECHA mini / Corsair K70 PRO wireless
MOUSE : zowie fk1+-b / Steelseries Rival / Razer Viper 8k / Steelseries Prime+ / Logitech g pro x superlight
MOUSEPAD : ZOWIE G-SR / HYPER X Fury-S / Ducky Shield L / Asus aimlab
AUDIO : Senheiser GSP 600 / Senheiser epos GSX 300 //// HyperX Cloud Alpha S Pro /// Senheiser epos H6PRO open / Corsair VIRTUOSO XT
I see 4 large issues here:
1.) Wireless peripherals are undesirable if your goal is latency-first and achieving lowest electromagnetic interference.
2.) No mention of exact DRAM timing profile & kit used
3.) No mention of exact power supply model. Are you referring to the NZXT C850?
4.) Severely underpowered GPU for a game such as CS2, which is even more of an issue as NVidia Reflex is not working as intended in that particular game

Buy a AM5-based X3D system with a Asrock/ASUS motherboard (8-layer minimum) and side-band ECC UDIMMs, such as these ones
A alternative is going for a AM4-based X3D system for a cheaper alternative, as 3200MT/s 2x8GiB DDR4 (side-band) ECC UDIMMs are easier to obtain.
Though, considering that you own a 13700K, you could buy a W680-based motherboard and stick to your current platform:
https://geizhals.de/?cat=mainboards&xf= ... omode=true
Namely, these motherboards: ASUS Pro WS W680-ACE (DDR5), ASrock W680D4U (DDR5), Gigabyte MW34-SP0 (DDR4)

Get a good PSU, such as the AX1600i.
Get a stronger GPU, e.g. a 4090 or 5080.

That should give you a good foundation for further assessments.

Yeah sure, rtx 3070 and a gold-quality PSU are the problem lmao...how about, it is ELECTRICITY problem? Or are you gonna keep on buying new computers until you realise that?

By the way your "recommended" PSU costs over 600€, you must be fully stupid to pay that much for a PSU, for that money you should buy a solid online UPS instead, or even a power conditioner.

He literally said " I've tried quite a few new PC systems and monitors over the past 7 years", so what, are all PCs bad and couldn't handle undemanding games like cs2 and valorant? Yeah sure...it is ELECTRIC problem, now good luck finding what exactly, because it can be anything from old wiring, bad contact in outlet, bad neutral wire, bad groudning, to something that you cannot fix like your neighbours having a faulty device that emits EM and harmonics, or simply the grid is old and overcrowded.

You're clueless on how the electromagnetic field, electronics & the game programming pipeline operate.
The AX1600i is the only good GaN PSU on the market.
Everything else is either slightly inferior (GaN-like), very inferior (silicon MOSFET) or unobtainable with scarce review data for consumers in Q4 2025 (+500W ATX linear PSU)

Yes, considering the severely bad HW choices that laymen do. You're likely no exception either.
It's unrelated to the workloads (CS2, Valorant), it's a HW choice issue.
The system specifications, which were taken from OP's steam description, are a major red flag already for anyone who's aware of these topics in-depth.

None of those can be pursuited without having a stable foundation (good HW choices), which the OP doesn't have.
You likely don't have that either.

Mate, you do realise that 90% of people that play valorant are just casual players right, not some hardcore PC builders, and they are playing on a pre-build ~900€ PC they buy in the local shop? On Bronze-tier PSUs that are used in prebuild PCs, and the cheapest possible MOBOs?

But guess what? 99% of people don't have those problems...so how come? Maybe, MAYBE because the problem is not hardware, but some kind of magnetic / electric interference?

You don't need a 1000€ GPU and 600€ PSU to play valorant and cs2 smoothly, so don't spread bullshit...the issue is 101% not hardware-related, but something else - network, electricity, magnetic fields.

Severe logical fallacies & ignorance on intrinsics of HW/SW.
Funny how you project as well, claiming I "spread bullshit", when I have concrete steps one can take while all you can do is wander in circles and claim another victim to this meme topic?
In fact, I even have a link in my signature which can be a conclusion to this entire dilemma, which keeps on getting purported online as if it's some unicorn.

Keep chasing Casper and selling snake oil, like the vast majority of alt accounts around here :)

Then explain why do my "garbage" PC works perfectly when i try it on another location, but as soon as I bring it back home, it works like shit again, if you are so smart?

Imagine thinking that you need a 2000€+ PC to play valorant without problems, freaking lmao...if "weak" hardware would be the problem, then you would have 10,000 threads about this problem on each and every PC and gaming forum, because 99% of people don't play on super expensive computers like you, you know?

A good PSU can only mitigate the problems, but it won't fix it because the electrcitiy from the wall is the problem.

You cannot confidently claim that anything in your electrical network was the exact culprit without detailed analysis by professionals.
You can only make speculation & assumptions based on old-wives tales of laymen discussing these topics.
I don't see how your "issue" has strong affinity to be related to what OP is experiencing either.
I also don't see a point to discuss this with you any further. This isn't a thread about your particular issue.

The OP said that he tried multiple PCs and monitors, same symptoms each and every time - so you have your red flag there, the problem is NOT hardware, that's the whole point.

Again, a huge majority of population does not build their own PCs for 2000€, they buy pre-built PCs from electronic shops. Why don't we see millions of people with those problems then? And you have numerous people on this forum which claimed that the problems went away after they re-installed / fixed their loose neutral wires and main electrical panels, but yeah the problem is apparently the fact that the OP doesn't have a PSU worth 600€..lmao.

If you would be so smart, you would know what error-correcting protocol is in modern computing, and why is it activated and is causing massive input / output delays (hint: it is activated when exposed to insufficient sinus, a.k.a "dirty electrcity".)
