As you can see, I have Hynix A-die RAM chips. My system is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with an MSI B850 Gaming Plus motherboard. In the tests you’re seeing, I only have EXPO + PBO enabled, but the interesting part is that I’m getting a very high memory latency of around 77–78 ns.

I know the 7800X3D can “mask” some of this because of its large L3 cache, but is this actually normal? What I mean is: if we could somehow bring RAM latency down to around 55–60 ns, would overall system stability and input latency return to normal? I’m asking purely out of curiosity. If anyone here understands RAM optimization, could you help?

Note: After many different settings, the best I managed was 63 ns, but stability was pretty bad. Also, I couldn’t get the system to boot with tRFC1 below 500. I also tried disabling Gear Down Mode and Power Down Mode.

RAM access latency has no effect on input latency. It only affects general performance (by a very small amount.)
