Anyone have experience with the new ASUS tn panel? Deciding between these two. The zowie has a lot of reviews and anecdotes from a lot of people but wanting to hear more opinions from the people who have tried out the XG248QSG ace. Haven't really found any ufo pics comparing this ELMB2 to dyac 2 or anything like that.
Not too impressed by the pulsar reviews so far so I'm deciding between these two. Any thoughts? Main focus is CS2, val, overwatch and other fps.
I already have a 240 OLED that works great and I'll continue using that one for single player games and other content but want the cutting edge when it comes to competitive fps.

- zowie is better if you want to run at lower refresh rates, it blows away asus at 120-144-240hz, say cap fps to 240 or 300 and play apex legends
- zowie contrast is significantly better, this asus contrast is terrible (side by side with zowie)
- zowie also appears to have less backlight bleeding, asus is kinda nasty full black screen
the only good thing i can see about this asus is the crosshair feature, even then, the ai crosshair is slow and random
i dont think duplication is fair when comparing monitors, but im too lazy atm to test seperately, but when cloned, the asus is 3 frames at 960fps camera quicker to respond than the zowie, both using there strobing, so 3ms

not sure how this guy tests, but is still comparable, if its same settings with just different monitors, i think the lowest is 10-11ms from phillips 360hz oled, not all of the oleds he tested are that low tho, that 280hz IPS tho, is a unicorn

If you want to use a backlight strobing implementation @ 600Hz (which you shouldn't, as the only game which can sustain that performance target are Valorant, CS2 & OW2), then the Zowie XL2586X(+) is solo due to the use of a QD-based backlight.
Anything KSF/PFS-based (everything +500Hz LCD that isn't a Zowie) is garbage.
However, +480Hz OLED is still better than both, especially in games such as CS2/Valorant which benefit more from static gaze rather than eye-tracked performance.
Backlight strobing is only good in FPS-limited games (be it limited by game design or by user's hardware) and fast-paced tracking-heavy games (Apex, OW2, Quake,...), less so in other situations.

I see, thanks for the comparison. If I do decide between them I'll definitely go with Zowie. Maybe considering an oled tooMSIfanboy wrote: ↑07 Feb 2026, 04:33i do not have 600hz zowie, i do have 540hz zowie and 610hz asusDankerino wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026, 22:34Anyone have experience with the new ASUS tn panel? Right I'm definitely considering an oled as well. Possibly the asus 540 hz tandem oled. What do you think about these new units? Ive heard some people having issues with vertical banding and stuff like that.kyube wrote: ↑07 Feb 2026, 08:42If you want to use a backlight strobing implementation @ 600Hz (which you shouldn't, as the only game which can sustain that performance target are Valorant, CS2 & OW2), then the Zowie XL2586X(+) is solo due to the use of a QD-based backlight.

Vertical banding is more prevalent on LG's (W)OLED panels than on Samsung's QD-OLED variants.
The new dual modes aren't exempt from this behavior. QD-OLED also has it but to a much lesser extent.
I'd suggest waiting on a proper RGB stripe 24–27 QHD +480Hz OLED if your current monitor is fine / sufficient.
