With RTSS Scanline-Sync, it's like night and day, no tearing.
240 is the lock for RTSS.
When I lock it to 240, there are still tearing and it feels like there's more system lag.
Scanline-sync comes with cons. Any external frame rate limiting solution increases total system latency by 1-2 frames (4,167 – 8,334 ms)
It's why I recommended GSYNC+VSYNC+Reflex instead as the #1 solution.

It's also really strange that on bots, when I'm running at 400 fps, the lag feels worse than with RTSS Scanline-Sync.
Have you checked your system for instabilities (CPU, GPU,..) and have you checked whether your display is frameskipping by any chance?

Tried HDMI and DP. Mouse 1kHz and 2kHz too.
You should be using DP on your display model.

The monitor doesn't skip frames. The white square goes through all the squares, but it leaves a residual image in the previous square. This is probably normal for TN.

What do you mean "check for stability"?
I've tested everything I could—OCCT, games, benchmarks.
Everything's fine.
I'm checking system latency with XTW, but I only discuss the results with AI, and that idiot rarely says anything useful.
In general, there are no problems in any games as such, but I can’t figure out what is a problem and what is not.

I assume you've checked with a camera with the appropriate shutter speed setting, therefore I will consider this checked
Then that just means you're sensitive to 'tearing'.
GSYNC+VSYNC+Reflex is your solution. Make sure to set your game in FSE (HW:LFLIP) instead of FSO (HW:IFLIP)
Ideally, you'd get a +540Hz TN and use the combo above, so you encapsulate your possible system's frame rate within your display's refresh rate.

Exactly what you've mentioned. I only wanted to mention it, just in case.

Thank you so much for taking the time!
Yes, the recording was done in 240fps slow motion with frame-by-frame stopping.
I'll tryFSE (HW:LFLIP)

It's important that you set the appropriate shutter speed, as per the https://testufo.com/frameskipping instruction.
Just to be sure, are you running the game in DirectX 11 or in the Vulkan API?

"Here is what I've noticed. My monitor has overshoot even with overdrive set to 'Minimal' (which is 'AMA Normal' on Zowie). I lowered it via the Service Menu from 6 (Normal) to 4. The overshoot is almost invisible at 960 px/sec. It becomes more noticeable at 1920 px/sec, and at level 2, it's clearly visible.
Regarding frame skips: yes, that was my mistake. I followed the instructions and everything is perfect now. There are 8 squares moving in a snake pattern without any interruptions."
