System breaking methods to reduce input lag

Post by Hyote » 07 Feb 2026, 14:18

I migrated these two settings mentioned below to https://github.com/Hyyote/files-/tree/main/tweaks
and added another method to further remove diagnostics.

The first link contains files for two methods that completely remove HPET from Windows. It's been said that despite being turned off in Windows and BIOS it is still not fully inactive. These remove HPET which can be seen in the device manager and personally it has been a positive experience without any performance loss in games so far. Both methods also allow turning it back on but I can't make guarantees on anything working flawlessly.

The second link is about removing Windows Error Reporting, not just disabling it. I tried to remove everything related to logging but some system components are needed to even boot into Windows, so this is the most in-depth I could go with the removal.
This breaks the start menu, immersive control panel and a lot of things completely. The system takes about 5 minutes to start up with a sihost.exe error that you may or may not be able to skip through. Audiosrv and DHCP Client services are turned off so they have to be turned on manually after startup. After these steps, everything should be working but this is as far as it's been tested.

Considering doing a separate install tomorrow to try out some new stuff, I’ll give it a try

Might be SecureBoot or strict UEFI mode enabled.

I also couldn’t get it to work, get a bunch of red text errors, changing uefi/secure boot settings didn’t change anything

Which one? I remember making everything universal but I might have messed up somewhere if it's about the HPET scripts.

Yes the “test signing method”

This is what I get when I choose option 3, in fact any option gives red text: https://ibb.co/7JMPhL5X

Weird, I checked the methods, and tested them. Could you try extracting DSDT.bin from RWEverything? You need to go to the ACPI Tables menu, find DSDT at the very end and then save it as .bin then place it in the same folder as the script.
