How to identify a mouse with input lag or how to adjust mouse settings.

Post by longky0100 » 03 Mar 2026, 04:35

I'm currently using a 7800x3d-5070 with all power saving settings disabled and this is how I configured the registry.

And no matter what settings I adjust, I still feel it's slippery and not as firm as other people's videos I've seen. This is especially true for the game I'm playing, Gunz. Some people say AMD is bad and can't run Gunz well; it's an extremely old game use Direct D3D9X
He used Intel's built-in overclocking trick by adding up the CPU's BCLK clock speed and making some registry tweaks. I really don't understand what else in the registry could have made his target computer so much more powerful... I tried a lot of Windows optimizations, but it still felt very smooth... with an extremely old Gunz game where you move the mouse quickly and a lot, that smoothness made my aiming quite bad...
This is a tricky situation, but the truth is that if I set the registry like this, everything I shoot in the game looks much faster, unlike with the default Windows registry settings. I don't know if there's anything else I can do to reduce the aim slippage...Hellppp :( :( :(

Install .net desktop runtime 64-bit, https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/down ... -installer, it fixes slippery mouse, for me at least mousespeed - gives me jittery mouse movement, 0 doesn't.

You don't need to restart pc after installing .NET, you can also uninstall mid game and mouse changes back to how it was before if you don't like it, I have heard people that play with palm grip like .NET and those who use other grip styles dislike it, however try for yourself everyone says different things.

from where do you get this tweaks? .NET framework mouse feel is next level

It's one of the things that give a better mouse feel but not actual lower latency.

trial and error really, I tried so many things from SSL certificates, registry settings, bcdedits, debloating gpu drivers, fucking headache of a list.. I still haven't reached the normal no input lag feeling I used to get with Windows version 1607 though... I might just reinstall it to see if it's consistently the same as I remember or if it it's something else, maybe power delivery/EMI related. I was much happier before knowing this forum existed, and before frequenting the input lag section for fixes that never stick.
