ASUS PG27AQDM OLED – vertical banding appeared after ~2 years (not going away)

High Hz on OLED produce excellent strobeless motion blur reduction with fast GtG pixel response. It is easier to tell apart 60Hz vs 120Hz vs 240Hz on OLED than LCD, and more visible to mainstream. Includes WOLED and QD-OLED displays.

ASUS PG27AQDM OLED – vertical banding appeared after ~2 years (not going away)

Post by Konito » 04 Apr 2026, 14:06

Hey, I’ve been using an ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM for almost 2 years without any issues, but about 3 days ago I suddenly started noticing vertical banding / uniformity problems.

It’s especially visible on gray backgrounds and looks like faint vertical stripes across the screen (mainly around the center). It wasn’t there before and appeared out of nowhere. (see the pic in attachments)

At first I thought it might be temporary image retention, but it doesn’t go away and seems consistent now. I’ve already run multiple pixel cleaning.

Has anyone experienced something similar after long-term use?
Is this a known issue with this monitor?

Never seen or heard of this.

But I notice you have the sun coming through your blinds directly behind it. Does the monitor get hit with direct sunlight? if so, is it around the area of the banding issue?

I would contact ASUS for support/replacement ASAP.
