NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

Tried the new 1.1.6 update on the Acer Pulsar. It wasn’t working correctly on older Nvidia drivers, I thought my monitor was broken with how bad it was ghosting and stuttering. Was trying all sorts to fix it, restarting PC, restarting monitor, disconnecting 2nd monitor.

Updated to latest Nvidia drivers then the ghosting issue was gone.

Only tried Pragmata and Resident Evil briefly, glad it’s fixed and just in time for the new Leon game mode update

That sounds good, I'll keep in mind I may need new drivers (596.21 currently)

Can't wait to see it fixed on the Asus as well, then the monitor will finally operate the way it was meant to.

The PG27AQN suffers from the same issues that these QHD@360Hz Pulsar models do, except that it's strobing is actually done properly.
–Expensive (+600eur for a IPS LCD is simply a scam)
–DP1.4&HDMI 2.0 (forced DSC past 240Hz)
–KSF backlight negatively impacts strobing, especially the 120Hz & 240Hz ULMB2 modes

If you care about sample & hold, 500Hz OLED is in this price budget in Europe.
if you care about strobing, better models exist for a much cheaper price. (ULMB1 & DyAc1/+/2 or 3rd party strobing solutions)
if you care about total image quality (color rendering, contrast ratio), OLED blows LCD out of the water.
I simply don't see a use-case for the PG27AQN & the XG27AQNGV, which I've stated in the original discussion thread & in this one multiple times.

The successors (Pulsar QHD@360Hz models) have a chance to easily eclipse the PG27AQN, at least in regards to the KSF aspect.
Hopefully, the pricepoint drops to normal values (<400eur) & they orient ULMB2 (≥120Hz) & Pulsar to target much lower strobe intervals, then it'll be a worthwhile consideration.
I'm still a bit salty over the lack of HDMI 2.1, when the MT9810 clearly supports it.

Agreed, except that this doesn't change what i said: Pulsar doesn't make the PG27AQN obsolete and useless given what you're saying here.
While you implied to me a month or two earlier by stating your point several times.
It's still a very good monitor, with or without strobing.

X27UF5BMIIPPRUZX for ex. handles DSC poorly and the 500hz experience is not really great, in addition to other factors such as a buggy OSD, as usual with Acer.

This is purely subjective.
High saturation and an ultra-high contrast ratio doesn't necessarily mean they're better. Many well-calibrated IPS panels have more interesting potential, also, quite a few OLEDs are more aggressive on the lagom test.

In addition to the potential for burn-in in photo editing usage.

Strobing on Pulsar is more painful on the eyes. That can be an argument in itself.

I think it was only updated yesterday to update the text that the Acer model has access now, which already has been for some time on the firmware download pages (there is two)

When I first found the 1.1.4 firmware it was 1 day before official release, when 1.1.6 launched there were apparently two firmware update pages each which displayed a different text. Now recently the Acer received it but that customer support page hadn't been updated yet.

It seems like these things are updated a little bit ad-hoc with some inconsistency, so I am checking all three daily.

How do you see if the firmware updates are available for asus or acer a day before? I don't know if the firmware is available unless I put the monitor in firmware update mode and go through the flow on the browser.

Does anyone have the issue ?, the display is not detectable by DisplayWidget Center or Armoury Crate.
