Hello sir Hyotte, I made an account to ask you about your power plan. I imported it, but what is different than this from say ultimate performance? I am a novice at this stuff, but I honestly love the feel of the plan.Hyote wrote: ↑22 May 2026, 09:16You can check my YT:Mr1991 wrote: ↑21 May 2026, 19:01How do you fair with gaming/everyday use? I haven’t done the typical windows stripping for along time because I found you just end up with so many compatibility issues it just wasn’t worth itHyote wrote: ↑21 May 2026, 01:15Many people say hardware is the most important factor which is partially true. I would urge everyone to prorerly set up all the BIOS settings because they leave so much garbage on in the hidden options, it's unreal. With that said I'm going to state the importance of Windows again. Everyone with a floaty, sluggish mouse feel has a sub-optimal operating system. Linux will probably never catch up in latency so Windows is your best bet. I'm not going to advertise my own but all the available free versions don't offer almost anything over stock. I can't prove that it's fully true either but you should look at things like ctfmon.vercel.app and decide for yourself if you want something better. Personally, I've been input lag free for a very long time and haven't experienced desync other than the games' netcode I play. So I think you can have any kind of a hardware configuration but can't use anything other that Windows 10 or 11 which both need a lot of changes to be made into what they are supposed to be for gaming. Tl;dr: do everything you can, don't leave out any settings if possible, the effects stack up.
I think the hidden bios settings is 100% worth exploring, can be extremely lengthy and takes a lot of time looking into each variable though
Really need to do a dual boot with a throwaway install
The gaming videos are in sync with my tweaking timeline, so the latest video has my current tweaks. Aside from that I experience 0 input lag or sluggishness. My games also perform very well, usually above 300 fps just due to the process settings I have and I'm not even on my new PC which has a 9850X3D. And yes, if you want to achieve low latency, you have to sacrifice a lot of things, including some older games as well. But competitive titles work.
Has anyone tried to tweak hidden BIOS and Windows power settings to fix desync and input lag?

All those tweaks to get low latency input, and you choose to play APB Reload with all it's hitreg issues. I get it, I've played on and off since 2014. It's the game that got me into optimizing my system.
That game runs terrible when I have HPET enabled in the BIOS. The framerate drops when moving the mouse. HPET disabled fixes the problem. I had to mod my motherboard's BIOS to disable it.

HPET on or off barely matters as I tested. And for APB, the bigger problem is the fact that the mouse input is not picked up at low movement intervals, so you can't be as precise as you want to be. But regardless I "benchmarked" other games by feel too and I can still stand by my custom OS. It really is the ultimate solution regardless of having EMI issues or not.DudeBeFishing wrote: ↑22 May 2026, 14:57All those tweaks to get low latency input, and you choose to play APB Reload with all it's hitreg issues. Tweaks like that are copium. Ask pro player of any game and ask about that. I did it and a guy was like wtf I am talking about- his gameplay is perfect fine and snappy and mine aim is floaty, slowing down, heavy aim. But I wish you the best
