ALT-TAB Black Screen FIX! AOC AGON PRO AG256FS 360hz - 4080 SUPER

Post by Babluga » 29 May 2026, 19:16

I only started experiencing this issue after updating past NVIDIA driver 576.88. Every newer driver I tested caused a 2-3 second black screen whenever I ALT-TAB CS2 while running in exclusive fullscreen.

#1: on latest NVIDIA driver 610.47
open CRU (Custom Resolution Utility)
Go to CTA-861 Extension Block
Leave only Default RGB and sRGB enabled
Use restart64 or Reboot.

After doing this, Alt-Tab became almost instant with no black screen delay.

#2:
Install NVIDIA driver 576.88 or older.
With 576.88, the problem doesn't occur even with the monitor EDID left completely default.

Not sure if this is a monitor EDID/CTA-861 issue or a newer NVIDIA driver bug, but hopefully this help someone else experiencing the same problem.

Let me know if you can reproduce it and whether you know why this happens.

Try deleting the HDR static metadata (if you dont use it) inside CRU. In four monitors i`ve tested, this always worked with instant alt tabing.

Thank you, I tested it and it worked. I reset the EDID and only removed HDR static metadata, and it became instantaneous.
