Ok, so I just found a really strange workaround for this issue without disabling MPO.
I’m using two monitors with G-SYNC set to “fullscreen apps only,” yet I still get the G-SYNC indicator on my main monitor
when using windowed apps like Viber and a few others.
Both monitors are the same 180Hz G-SYNC compatible models, but this only happens on the main one.
Now here’s the weird part:
If I go into the NVIDIA Control Panel, add the Viber app, change Monitor Technology to Fixed Refresh Rate, click Apply,
and then switch everything back to Use Global Setting (exactly as it was before), G-SYNC stops activating.
I have no idea how that even works, but I’m guessing this changes additional hidden driver flags
beyond just Preferred Refresh Rate and Vertical Sync that aren’t shown in the Control Panel.
If I remove the app from the list, the issue comes back again..
