Pulsar below 75 FPS (the original plan to allow Pulsar down to 48 FPS). Flicker when pulsing below 75 Hz is very visible, especially at full Pulsar brightness (this is why ULMB2 60 Hz defaults to lower brightness). Supporting dynamically variable refresh rate pulsing adds 12 dB to this already bad flicker. We implemented it and tried it. The resulting flicker was not acceptable to any viewer .

I got 48hz and 24hz to work on Pulsar with strobbing. Having the same clarity as 60hz. The cleanest video motion I ever seen. Surpases Plasma & CRT's.
Hopefully the 120hz update can put motion quality on par with 60hz. That way I can use 72hz. Right now 72hz isn't as clear because I'm using 120hz as my base. And using qft to go down to 72hz.
With 24hz and 48hz i'm using 60hz as my base for qft. Which gives me the same clarity as 60hz strobe. qft takes on the same clarity of whatever your starting base hz is. If I use 120hz as my base, for 48hz qft, then it's less clear. So it's best to use 60hz.
There is an issue though, turning off strobe, will have after flicker effects. Strobbing at 24hz or 48hz.
And another issue is that with high contrast elements, I get temporary image retention of that element. But this isn't exclusive to these Pulsar displays since I also see this issue on the Viewsonic XG2431.

I like to play games with the usual G-Sync+V-Sync+Reflex where it automatically caps FPS/Hz to 326/327. However, when using the Pulsar monitor in single-monitor mode, after 1-2 minutes, the monitor will drop down from 326/327 to 320 instead, which seems like a buffered V-Sync state with a significant latency increase.
If you alt-tab and go back into the game again, it'll go back to the good 326/327 reflex cap state, but once again, after 1-2 minutes, it'll go back down to 320.
Another weird quirk with this bug is that if you have a second monitor plugged in, it doesn't drop down to 320. It will keep the 326/327 reflex cap.
I'm running the latest Nvidia Pulsar firmware 1.1.6 on my XG27AQNGV monitor with a 5090 on driver 596.49.
I'm curious if any Pulsar monitor owners have updated to the new 610.62 Nvidia driver and are still seeing this issue.

I just noticed the next firmware version has changed to 1.1.8 which now includes both AOC and MSI monitors having pulse width adjustments for what looks like 60hz and the upcoming 120hz modes.

I love the "misc bug fix" line at the end there, I'm hoping they made pulsar a little less picky when it activates the compensation pulse or at least added a hysteresis or something for pulsar when frame rates are not perfect but visibly stable. Best case scenario they fix/add a new reflex mode in an upcoming update

Its not Pulsar mode then right? As that would mean you can use VRR all the way down to 24hz.
Can you provide more detail on exactly how you do this?

Would you mind giving more details on how you got 24 Hz and 48 Hz strobing?

Is the flicker the same as 60hz? this is my biggest concern.

thinking of getting XG27UCGR, its 4k 27 inch 162hz and 1080p 485hz dual mode, and also has perfect 1:1 integer scaling 24.5 inch mode
and it has a way better osd settings menu, dynamic crosshair, sharpness slider etc, and pulsar gets bare bones, yet this cost half the price
(and i can use the stand to swap with my pg27aqn, if i dont like the monitor) it has same screwed on stand, some have a tab you push

Where have you found the info that it supports "perfect 1:1 integer scaling" in the 24.5" mode?
Do keep in mind that you're still on a relatively large image resolution on the 24.5" mode, which can lead to a GPU bottleneck much easier.
It won't "magically" become equivalent to 24" FHD.
The only vendor which seemingly offered "integer scaling" (Nearest Neighbour with a integer value) has been Dell AW thus far, according to

It's backlight strobing performance is going to roll Pulsar into obsolescence, the usual of Zowie
