Re: Has anyone found a fix to desync in games? (Behind the server feeling)
Oh yea it's solved, haven't you seen? Theres a topic about some realtek usb device and if you buy it you're a genius and solve the 20+ years old desync issue.
Jokes aside this is exactly why there is no progress. People are too lazy to think, too lazy to read older topics and put information together. And mainly the attention whoring with some "quick one step fix" topics.
The wiser guys have left and won't even bother trying to explain or analyze the issue. Because of course everyone expects that they can buy the solution. A more powerful pc, more hz, insane tweaking etc.
A good start would be to find a name for this issue that everyone can understand and search up online. Right now it's all mixed together - this deeper decades old issue and the issue of someone not knowing to disable vsync for example all under the name of "desync".

Re: Has anyone found a fix to desync in games? (Behind the server feeling)
Try the following:
BIOS -> BLCK -> 98 or 99
I have an Intel 12900KF (12900KS-level performance) + Asus Z690 D4 motherboard. I cannot disable "Spread Spectrum" or "HPET" in the BIOS.
I also always had the feeling of being 500ms behind the server.
I’ve investigated this issue at every conceivable level, and today I wouldn't call it being "behind the server" anymore.
- It’s not my ISP, the physical line, or my router (I can rule this out 100%).
- It’s not the CPU, nor does it have anything to do with overclocking (I can rule this out 100%).
- It’s not the GPU, drivers, etc. (I can rule this out 100%).
- It’s not Windows 10/11/Standard/ReviOS/XOS... either (I can rule this out 100%).
Removing the CPU overclock or running the RAM at "Ultra-Slow" speeds can slightly improve the problem, but it doesn't fix it. There are also a few Windows options that can make it worse or better, such as USO/URO, etc.
For instance, if I enable `useplatformtick`, the situation improves immediately, but the game (Battlefield 6) feels like 30 FPS even though it displays 141 FPS. Enabling `useplatformclock` causes my computer to stutter even on the desktop, yet that too fixes the "behind the server" feeling.
The problem must have something to do with the timers. Something is drifting. The game simulation runs faster than normal.
For me, it’s 99% of the time the same scenario:
I launch BF6 and join a match. At first, everything runs great. Opponents react normally. Everything feels good. Then, minute by minute, it gets progressively worse. You really start to notice it about 8 minutes into a round. The frame rate is fine and all the stats look good, but opponents react faster and faster. It’s no longer a case of "see and be seen, then shoot and win or lose"... Suddenly, everyone spots you instantly—right away, everywhere—as if you were just standing around idly doing nothing, as if you were handicapped. Sometimes things suddenly improve, but often it stays that way. Opponents who previously couldn't react to you (no skill) suddenly behave like world-class pro gamers.
Test it out!
1.) useplatformtick yes = play
2.) blck = 98 or 99 + play (delete useplatformtick)
It’s a timer issue, and I suspect it has mainly to do with the motherboard.

Same issue as yours, but i can disable hpet and spread spectrum in bios and that doesn’t change anything. Useplatformclock gives sluttery not enjoyable gameplay.LaggyTyp wrote: ↑12 Jul 2026, 04:28Try the following:

I have 12700k msi z690 , use hidden bios settings for disable Hpet , on github you can find timer benchmark and small bat to set proper timer. In my case the best timer is set 504

Funnily enough I played with the timers before and it instantly fixed my issues for like 6 months, especially the "behind the server feeling". But then there were updates that reset everything and it went back to being shit, but I never saved what the settings were when it was running right.

What timers are you talking about, a setting or a program?ApexLeg wrote: ↑13 Jul 2026, 11:38Funnily enough I played with the timers before and it instantly fixed my issues for like 6 months, especially the "behind the server feeling". As soon as I launch BF6, my timer switches to 0.5ms and can no longer be changed manually. The game forces 0.5ms.

I agree with this!

I speak as someone who spent 10 years configuring the Windows timer: whatever is causing the timer drift lies outside the Windows system itself.

Re: Has anyone found a fix to desync in games? (Behind the server feeling)
When a match is in progress, it operates on a timeline. To me, it feels like the UDP packets from the server no longer align with that timeline; the game tries to correct (compensate) for this, causing the opponents to move faster and faster from my perspective. It’s insane.
For the first 5–10 minutes, my opponents seem completely normal—mostly clueless idiots. But at a certain point, the problem becomes so severe and pronounced that they sweep over me like gods.
I watch Enders (BF6) and see a completely different—and totally relaxed—game.
