External SSD/HDD has fixed my desync and input lag

Post by DangerAhead710 » 23 Jul 2026, 22:51

Guys I think it's finally fixed for me. It's been more than 3 weeks I've been using an external SSD connected to my usb port with valorant installed on it. Don't install the game on pc. Also I bought an external HDD 3 days ago just in case to check if it only works with SSD or HDD as well. And it does work the same with external HDD as well connected via usb cable. I'm not sure whether it will work for more days but for SSD it's been almost a month that's its perfect hitreg and hasn't degraded at all ever since and I top frag 90% of the game but the important thing is it feels like heaven .I never feel behind enemies or getting one tapped instantly. It's cheap compared to other pc parts. So you guys can buy one and easily try it . Comment your reviews if it worked for you guys as well just like for me.

That could be the reason if your primary drive is failing, but otherwise it's just a band-aid fix for an unoptimized PC. A well-optimized system should do just fine for game sync. Whats your spec?

Could it be because the internal M.2 SSD causes interference? Internal SATA SSDs do the same, feeding the noise back through the SATA cable, HDDs as well though as far as I know, people have tried testing this in the past.

There's no need to buy one, you can even put the game on a phone if you have enough space on it.

It’s déjà vu, guys. I’ve already seen a thread here on the forum or somewhere on YouTube where a guy fixed his input lag this way(external hdd). Then he wrote that the input lag came back. I don’t know how much time passed, a month or two, but input lag always comes back. This is madness.
