How to set lg c1 run at 60hz bfi for 60fps >60hz input?

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, ToastyX, black frame insertion (BFI), and now framerate-based motion blur reduction (framegen / LSS / etc).

1. 60 Hz native refresh rate does not mean this display isn't capable of refreshing with other refresh rates. As I mentioned above at least consumer televisions often support both 50 and 60 Hz. It is just software that decides how often pixels are refreshed. If your TV supports 50 Hz input, your 50 fps input will be refreshed at 50 Hz. You can find the supported refresh rates in the technical spec sheet.

2. Yes, it is still 16.67 ms frame hold time which means it has the same persistence blur. It does not matter if the TV refreshes at 60 Hz or 120 Hz where two identical frames are drawn. Every pixel has the same state for 16.67 ms

3. When your input content is 60 Hz and you apply Motion Pro High, two processes are active: The first process is the rendering of your 60 Hz content, which happens 60 times per second. The second process is the rolling scan mechanism which runs on top of the image rendering. Imagine a delayed black bar moving from top to bottom just a few milliseconds after a pixel changes its state.

4. When your 60 Hz input content is rendered within a 120 Hz container, one single frame is drawn in 8.33 ms instead of 16.67 ms which is faster and therefore reduces the overall input lag. You can find more information with the term "Quick Frame Transport".

If enable 120fps>120hz bfi on a 10ms gtg lcd can reduce smearing trail due to slow pixel responsive time?

About responsive time of lcd oled, vincent said oled can achieve 0.3ms gtg but 18ms of lcd which slower than 16ms per frame.

That is quite different from chief said, quest 2 and eizo foris has 2ms and o.3ms

Who is correct

It depends. Usually LCD use backlight strobing and typically the entire display is turned on and off. When the pixel response times are very slow, you get problems with backlight strobing because the pixels are not all at the same final state, some are still transitioning or already are in transition to their next state. If the strobing implementation is bad, motion clarity will not be reduced optimally.

OLED have super fast pixel response times which allows rolling scan implementations to achieve better motion clarity results than slow LCD.

When an LCD has 18 ms response time, it means that the pixel does not reach its final state before it gets updated for the next frame which happens after 16.67 ms. Imagine the pixel just reaching 90 % of the brightness or its color value before the next transition happens.

0.03 ms is marketing. The real response times are higher. You can find test results on Rtings.com for example. They have a response time section for their TV and monitor reviews. You can see that most transistions have response times of below 1 ms, but some can even be higher. Still way better than LCD.

hi baron
i tried ouput 120hz from pc to c1 with medium bfi
compared with bfi high with 120hz output,or no bfi at all with bfi
i can't see any motion clarity difference

also
i pick up a half way bfi 120hz in 240hz max refresh rate monitor,as standard bfi darken whole frame
it also no difference compared with 120hz no bfi

Please use the testufo from Blurbusters to judge. If everything is setup correctly, you should immediately see a difference. If you don't see any difference, maybe

A) Your PC is not outputting 120 Hz
B) Your browser is not outputting 120 Hz
C) The testufo speed is too low

what is your pc spec and what 3d game have noticeble difference between bfi on and off

i am not interested with ufo test

I don't do PC gaming and the BFI effect depends on the velocities objects move on the screen and on your perception. You won't see BFI benefits in slow games and you won't see BFI benefits if you don't know what to look for, so this is why I recommend using the test ufo. If you can't spot improvements with BFI on the test UFO, then either your PC or browser is not setup correctly or you dont have enough practice in perceiving motion blur improvements.
Edit: You can take every 3D game for your BFI test where you can move the camera freely. If the camera speed is fast enough, you should see a difference.

i test 60hz output from switch which some 60fps side scroll 2d platformer
compared with 60hz bfi high c1 and plasma panny p55vt60
the 2d motion movement (motion ghost trail )of panny has clearer than c1,

maybe lg c1 good for 120fps 120hz bfi ,the motion clearness of sample hold can't compete with impluse driven
