Hey guys, if you have a *Dual CCD X3D chip, in Windows ALWAYS use the balanced power plan, not high performance.
Just in case some didn't know and turned it on by default.
cheers!

Re: X3D processor tip
All I can find is a reference to a Hardware Unboxed benchmark that compares balanced vs performance, but this video doesn't actually seem to exist? If it does, a search doesn't find it.

Re: X3D processor tip
The trick with ballanced power plan being superior is however a bit outdated today. At 9800X3D there is almost no difference at all, especially with overclock applied. There were some changes and optimalizations in AGESA and scheduler made in time between so its no more so much straigtforward "better".

Re: X3D processor tip
It is basic info that only dual CCD CPUs need the balanced power plan.

Re: X3D processor tip
That's entirely my mistake. I should have specified "for dual CCD chips". For single CCDs like the 9800X3D, 7800X3D impact is minimal.

Re: X3D processor tip
My 9850X3D feels the exact same than my 10850K did apart from the massive performance boost.
