Could our keyboard, mouse, and monitor become affected by this issue?

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

Could our keyboard, mouse, and monitor become affected by this issue?

Post by cerns » 07 Aug 2026, 10:35

First of all, I've been dealing with this issue for about **three years** now. The symptoms are the same ones many people describe: muddy graphics, poor motion clarity, inconsistent smoothness, "Ferrari peeks," and the feeling that everything is out of sync.

Around three years ago, I moved out of my family home and into a new apartment. That was when all of these problems started.

At first, I thought it had to be my hardware. On my original PC, I tested **five different mice, three different keyboards, and three different monitors**, but nothing changed. Eventually, I convinced myself that my PC had simply become outdated, so I built an entirely new system.

When I first built the new PC, I continued using the keyboard, mouse, and monitor that I had already purchased. I expected a huge improvement, but honestly it was a complete disappointment. The overall feeling was almost exactly the same.

Later, I started reading about electrical issues, EMI, grounding, and similar topics, so I began investigating that side of things. During my research, I found many people describing symptoms very similar to mine.

One post in particular caught my attention. The person claimed that **moving to a different house alone did not solve the problem**. According to them, the issue only disappeared after they moved **and** built a completely new PC, while also buying a brand-new keyboard, mouse, and monitor to use only in the new house.

In other words, they believed that whatever was causing the issue had somehow permanently affected their equipment. They claimed that even if they moved to a perfect electrical environment, bringing the old peripherals with them would also bring the problem.

At first, I thought this sounded ridiculous and I didn't believe it.

However, over time I tested both my old PC and my new PC in two different cities, and neither behaved any differently. The most important test for me, though, was taking my current PC back to my family home.

I was extremely hopeful because I had lived there for many years, and **before these last three years**, every game I played there felt perfectly normal.

Unfortunately, the result was devastating. The experience was **identical** to what I get in my current home. There was absolutely no improvement.

That made me start wondering about something that I never thought I would even consider:

**Could whatever is causing this issue somehow "spread" to our peripherals?**

I know this sounds crazy, and I'm not saying I believe it. I'm simply trying to understand why returning to an environment where everything used to work perfectly made absolutely no difference.

Sorry for my English.

I've had the same problem for several years, and unfortunately, I haven't been able to solve it. I've tried my computer in more than three different houses without success. You can't enjoy games, especially online shooters. In most encounters with anyone, even a beginner, there's an 80% chance they'll kill you. As for the claim that the problem is persistent or that it only affects the computer, that's incorrect. The proof is that the problem sometimes disappears late at night or when I connect a new grounding rod. It disappears for a very short time, and then the problem returns when my computer is fully charged again. It's strange; we're in 2026, and still no one knows the real reason for this problem. Even when you explain it to people, they think you're mistaken. Watch this video; tgltn is a professional gamer, and you'll see that he was facing the same problem. I don't know how he solved it. Notice that he says the mouse is slow, and it's clear from the video that he doesn't know exactly what the reason is, which is obviously due to the electricity. https://youtu.be/ux6ezERjJ0A?si=dsMg3upAOe16Rh1C

Peripherals cannot be 'infected' if all conditions are excellent, the change is immediate and you don't have to wait 1–2 hours, this is a proven fact.

I assume you're talking about this experience here: https://justpaste.it/9gtp3

I think the best way to find out is to buy a powerful laptop from a store with an easy return policy, along with a decent-quality mouse, and see for yourself. Otherwise, you might just end up wasting a bunch of money and then have to deal with the hassle of returning everything.

This will probably be my next step. For someone who has been dealing with this issue for several years and has a certain sensitivity to it, it should be pretty easy to recognize.

I honestly don’t really believe in this theory either. However, what I can’t understand is why there is no improvement at all when I test my PC in a place where I used to have absolutely no problems for years.

Could some of the components inside my PC have been permanently affected or damaged somehow? That’s honestly the part that makes me suspicious.

As I mentioned before, I’m completely sure that I never had this issue at this location. I lived and played games here for years, and everything always felt completely normal. That’s why I expected bringing my current PC here to make at least some difference, but it feels exactly the same as it does at my current home.

I travelled with my laptop many places across continents. For little I was able to test, I didn't find much difference with the input lag/desync which is kinda crazy.

And I also felt issues at gaming cafe where I never took my things there besides just my phone.

It's just very mind blowing unsolved problem and gives more questions.

Sameeee brooo, I also tried complete new accounts on different places/hardware and the issue still was there, I believe that it might be how some of us interact with electricity in general. Also I want to add that when I went to the cyber cafe I didn’t take my phone with me, the only thing that was the same during the tests was me lol.
