Unexplainable jitter/microsttuter after Mobo switch
Previous setup
Asus B450M Prime Gaming
5700X3D
RTX 3080 Ti
Corsair vengeance 32GB
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Crucial BX500
So i upgraded my motherboard to a MSI MPG B550M Gaming Plus
Changed my PC case with better fans and improved airflow (better temps)
and replaced my Samsung 840 and Crucial with a Kingston NV3 1TB (latest firmware and original)
I did a clean Windows install, setup the BIOS with XMP (msi labels it that despite being amd)
Long story short: I'm getting stutters and performance issues that I didn't have before. My FPS is mostly the same as before, but the game feels inconsistent. I get occasional microstutters/hitches, and overall it just doesn't feel good. Even on locked frame rate, like example:
Locked 120 fps on MENU. the frame flickers 117-118-119-1120 between them (this didn't happen before)
Does anyone have the slightest clue why this would be happening? and before someone asks no this didn't happen before and yes i've tried to install the game on the crucial ssd and the kingston one. Sadly I sold the samsung but i'm almost 90% sure the issue is the motherboard (only hardware that in fact changed)
I mainly play:
Warzone
Hunt: Showdown
So we don't waste comments and your precious time:
XMP is enabled. Tried without it and the issue is the same
Latest AMD chipset and NVIDIA drivers are installed.
Clean Windows install.
No registry/CMD "optimization" tweaks. (i've tried 3 different windows build: normie install / super tweaker install / conservative install
Tried multiple in-game settings.
NVIDIA Control Panel is configured with the usual recommended settings.
GPU is installed in the top PCIe x16 slot.
RAM is installed in the correct A2/B2 slots.
Temperatures are completely normal.
CPU and GPU usage/clocks look normal.
BIOS is up to date.
TPM, Secure Boot, and Resizable BAR are enabled.
Played enough for shader caches to be build

Re: Unexplainable jitter/microsttuter after Mobo switch
Check if the BIOS setting for installing MSI bloatware automatically is enabled. If yes, it might have installed RGB control crapware and other things that might cause this. Uninstall anything MSI in Windows and disable that BIOS setting.
Probably not the cause of this, but worth a shot.

Could be the fTPM bug that was supposed to be fixed on ryzen systems but seems like not so much. Might be worth a quick research/ test?detectme wrote: ↑07 Aug 2026, 13:05Previous setup

Re: Unexplainable jitter/microsttuter after Mobo switch
Try turning off Resizable BAR—when I was playing Space Marine 2 and The Last of Us, I experienced stuttering on my Z790 and couldn’t figure out why—it turned out Resizable BAR was to blame. Also, the game would crash after 10–25 minutes. Don’t believe all the hype about Resizable BAR; check out some YouTube tests comparing it with Resizable BAR on and off—at least give it a try.detectme wrote: ↑07 Aug 2026, 13:05Previous setup

Also, disable everything related to Resizable BAR; in my BIOS, I can see two sub-items that are related to each other.
