I've found extremely conflicting recommendations regarding these BCDEdit timer settings.
Some optimization guides recommend:
bcdedit /set useplatformclock no
bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes
bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes
Other users recommend removing all timer overrides and letting Windows use its defaults:
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformtick
bcdedit /deletevalue disabledynamictick
Riot has also recommended useplatformclock false for certain AMD performance issues.
I've seen reports that useplatformtick yes can increase DPC latency or hurt performance on newer Windows versions.
disabledynamictick is especially confusing: some users report better mouse/input consistency with Yes, while others report better performance or game consistency with No or with the value completely absent.
Does anyone have reliable information or actual testing on which configuration is preferable on modern Windows 11 / Ryzen X3D systems?

Why don't you test yourself?
All you need is:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-eu/geforce/te ... frameview/
https://github.com/valleyofdoom/xtw
OW2 benchmark map (DK3VN) or Rainbow Six Siege's in-game benchmark or some other esports game with a built-in benchmark.
I had to search up the claim, because it was hillarious if it turned out to be true.
Sadly, it was...
Both Faceit & RIOT have this advice. The nuance is that ASUS AI Suite 3 forces HPET on... but there's no indication that HPET impacts performance to the extent they're trying to make it seem.
Another example of a manifacturer not being aware of best performance tuning settings, akin to audio vendors still recommending LatencyMon.

i tested it so many times. it does absolutely nothing on windows 11. maybe on windows 10 yes but on windows 11 absolutely nothingkyube wrote: ↑10 Aug 2026, 04:57Why don't you test yourself?

I believe toggling HPET on or off never impacted performance to begin with.dermodemon wrote: ↑10 Aug 2026, 05:03i tested it so many times. it does absolutely nothing on windows 11. maybe on windows 10 yes but on windows 11 absolutely nothing
keep it clean.
If it did, it was likely limited to a few select titles or workloads with specific quirks.
At best, a Windows 7 era setting which impacted a few select games.
