I set "prefer maximum performance" for escapefromtarkov.exe. No blackouts after a 2-3 hour session. I'll add an update if the issue continues, thanks for the advice!

Yes... Nvidia is already looking into this. Its a common problem of RTX30/40 cards with 360 Hz wqhd monitors. I have also read about similar problems with UHD 240 Hz screens. As mentioned Nvidia already stated that changing to maximum performance mode should get rid of random ingame black screens.zedsdeadll wrote: ↑29 Aug 2026, 22:01Hey guys - I just purchased the XG27AQNGV and the screen goes black for 2 to 3 seconds then recovers. It's completely random, but I've been able to reproduce it mostly in the Escape from Tarkov menu. My second monitor never does it. Nothing shows in Event Viewer.
But the alt-tab black screens will remain, this seems to be a different issue.
If you reduce your monitor frequency to 240 Hz (which still looks amazing with pulsar) there will be less and shorter black screens. If you want to get rid of them completely you have to switch to single tile mode via registry.
This will also remove 360 Hz mode. Then your monitor will behave perfectly snappy, no more black screens at all.
I ran my 4070 for several months like this and it worked great. In the end I upgraded to RTX50 and all black screen problems are gone in normal operation with 360 Hz.
I hope they will get this under control. So many 360 Hz users out there which suffer from these handshake problems. Not just pulsar users.

I have this exact same issue. It happens randomly in different games. I have 4 monitors, doesnt happen on other monitors. 4080 Super. One game where it constantly happens is A.W.O.L on steam.zedsdeadll wrote: ↑29 Aug 2026, 22:01Hey guys - I just purchased the XG27AQNGV and the screen goes black for 2 to 3 seconds then recovers. 3080ti, DP 1.4 with DSC, firmware V1.1.8
I've tried:
- Multiple DP cables. Happens on both a VESA-certified DP80 1m cable and the cable that came with the monitor.
- Swapping GPU ports
- Pulsar on/off
- G-Sync scope set to windowed plus fullscreen and fullscreen only
Anyone else seeing this, or have any ideas on what to try next?
- 10 bpc vs 8 bpc, stock OSD settings

I'm having exactly the same issue with my RTX 3080. Random black screens for a couple of seconds, while my second monitor remains perfectly fine.zedsdeadll wrote: ↑29 Aug 2026, 22:01Hey guys - I just purchased the XG27AQNGV and the screen goes black for 2 to 3 seconds then recovers. Thanks a lot for all this information! This is really helpful, especially knowing that 240 Hz / single tile mode can work around the issue and that it seems to disappear with RTX 50-series cards.mawi wrote: ↑31 Aug 2026, 02:53Yes... Why does this monitor have the old OSD software, it's basically a copy of pg248qp and pg27aqn but with pulsar and 60hz ulmb2 option
I have 3 other Asus monitors with the newer software, and 2 were cheaper
Another annoyance of this monitor

Really hope they can fix the image retention problems eventually as well. Not too sure how common that issue is but I know of at least one other person that has mentioned it.

It's really only noticeable on grey background for me and its almost exclusively white text and fine lines. Doesn't last very long but its always there when leaving static content for too long with pulsar enabled. Not the worse issue but still.

The image retention is terrible. This can't be used as a crt replacement unless you only play 240p games. If you try to play 480i games with retrotink's crt simulation it will have image retention in less than a minute. Apparently this is common with IPS panels. Maybe they could have the next pulsar on a good VA panel.

If it hasn't been mentioned already, the OSD lacking a VRR toggle is annoying for me. My much cheaper VG27AQM1A has a toggle that you can use without having to open NVCP every time.
Bonus annoyance points on Linux, as Nvidia drivers on Wayland can only disable/ignore VRR for ULMB by using a nvidia-modeset parameter (Meaning a reboot is required every time you want to change it
