Did this but it didn't fix anything.ptaylor54 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2026, 17:21I have dealt with similar problems on and off for years. FInally have figured out the culprit on my machine and it has maintained successful results for the last two weeks. For me it seems that there is some conflict going on with nvidia control panel settings/ Nvidia app settings and ingame settings that seemed to have caused the desync I felt in all games but most noticable in Valorant. Simply going to the nvidia control panel choosing "let program decide" in the 3d settings option, and making sure that both apps were fully closed, not just minimzed in the tray, when playing games and suddenly all my problems with desynced shot are gone.

Re: valorant desync/network ONLY thread
Make sure that everything in the nvidia control panel is set to restore defaults. For some reason if I even select vsync as globally off, despite having vsync off in game the desync returns. Just theorizing that it when you have settings selected on top of what the game wants it adds another layer of render rules that the game has to process and adds visual delay that is palpable.DangerAhead710 wrote: ↑16 Feb 2026, 02:31So u just selected let 3d application decide and kept all settings as default and clicked exit from the background tray?and then Valorant has no desync?or is there something I'm missing here?

Could you write down the settings you used for me?Rezurrect wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026, 06:15Did anyone ever find a fix to these issues. Also been suffering with this across all games for a while. In CQCB games that I play like Roblox Sword Fighting, I always get hit so far away, yet their side I'm right near them. Then when I try get close to them, I still die far away cause their side I'm somehow closer than I am on my side and my hit reg is awful. On games like Fortnite and CS, my hitreg is bad, as soon as I get peaked I die insanely fast, and games like rocket league even when I'm closer to the ball visually, I always get out 50/50d (sometimes It is a genuine skill problem since I'm not as good at RL) but all this happens despite having really low ping 8-25ms. I've changed setups/isps multiple times. I did have a really old hp elitebook laptop that would be absolutely perfect, I even moved an SSD with windows on it from that laptop into my pc and even stuff like that didn't fix it, and one of my old Asus 1660ti pcs worked fine. But every other pc since has had these issues. I did temporarily try Linux for gaming despite not as good compatibility, and that was noticeablely better, but still off in a lot of ways. Also my girlfriends laptop has this issue (it was previously mine), but her Nintendo switch somehow runs perfectly fine.
This issue genuinely makes no sense and it feels impossible to fix. The amount of regedit/windows tweaks + bcdedit tweaks I've done yet nothing is nuts... I have 2 motherboards right now and both somehow have the exact same issue aswell. I'd love to say it's all a skill thing, but when I go to my mates house and go on his pc, I'm somehow 100x better than I am at mine, and I don't feel like I'm 500ms behind the server visually.

Re: valorant desync/network ONLY thread
I went from Immortal 3 to Gold 1 and I'm still going negative every game. It took me 3 years to realize it was my internet connection because I play on ethernet and my web browswing wasn't affected by it. My ISP (Xfinity) decided they couldn't afford to maintain good routes in South Florida anymore and they put me on 4 nodes that run through Miami with extreme congestion and a failing node that spikes to 400+ ms before the handoff to Riot.
Everyone called me washed, they said I was trash and accused me of having bought my rank. I went down a very long journey of trying other games because of how completely crushed my mental was. I'm 33 years old so I assumed maybe these little annoying kids were right and maybe I'm just old and washed now but then I started to think about how the change felt like it had happened over night. I was just suddenly not hitting my shots anymore so I started asking my teammates what they were seeing on their screen when spectating me. This took a lot of effort because there are a lot of toxic little man children on Valorant who think they're good but are all trash. Eventually I was told that it looked like I hadn't moved or that I was standing still and not aiming or having really bad reaction time to things so I started recording my games.
I have multiple YT videos now of how Valorant's client-side prediction coupled with their lag compensation will make you hate yourself. Even their replay system is a lie. It will change over time if you load it back up after an initial watch, it will try to even out certain points that seemed weird from your PoV but it also only records what the server saw and not what your client saw, so I started recording my games on Twitch and OBS. That is when I realized I'm not bad. I started to slow my videos down and I can see that my crosshair is perfectly placed each time I shoot but the bullet doesn't go out where I'm aiming even when I'm standing still. This led me down an even bigger journey of understanding of how Riot's servers worked for Valorant.
Valorant is a 128-tick server which means if you have an unstable connection you will lose every gun fight. I had anywhere from 45-75% hs in my ranked games prior to this issue. I was constantly being accused of being a cheater. I now realize that most of those players must've not had as stable of a connection as I did so they were seeing what I'm now seeing when I play Valorant. People are 2x the normal speed, every time someone appears on my screen they are 2x the normal speed and they instantly headshot me. When I swing I get instantly headshot. I noticed that when I leave smokes there is a small delay before I can see someone even though I can feel that my character should've left the smoke and my character is no longer in the smoke, it still is showing me the smoke blocking my vision.
My packet receive rate also drops to almost 0 every 10 seconds on the dot before recovering. I do not get kicked from the server because my connection stabalizes. My rental modem is repairing the damaged packets from the game and sending them late because there is most likely a damaged physical main drop to my apartment as well as the very very unstable and poor routing from Xfinity. This causes me to see people anywhere from 280-350+ ms late. This is double the time it takes for someone to react and shoot me which is why I instantly die before I see people. My in game ping never goes over 33. It is constantly fluctuating, like nonstop every ms between the ranges of 27-33. This makes me have unreliable jitter as well. My entire RTT Jitter graph is just spikes.
This entire issue is on an ethernet connection with 1000mbs down and 100mbs up. I even built a brand new PC and the internet here is damaging my PC. It is causing my PC to overheat and because Vanguard has full control over my PCIE lanes and it stops my GPU, network card and CPU when data arrives corrupted or when it cant verify a secure handshake with my ISP.
One of the biggest clues that led me to figuring this out was playing over 400 Team Deathmatches. Valorant syncs up all players to the server for the first 30 seconds of every game mode. Sometimes my connection was so bad that it didn't sync me up so I still saw people moving 2x the normal speed but sometimes the handshake didn't get corrupted and went through so I was able to see people in normal speed for the first 30 seconds. This led me to having games where I would ace an entire team round 1 only to go 12 rounds in a row without getting a kill. At first I thought it was Vanguard causing this issue because it also had problems with my Ryzen9800X3D's fTPM as well as mobo issues on my Rog Strix X870E-E Gaming Wifi motherboard. However after using PingPlotter5 and seeing the issue in realtime on these graphs + having over 40+ tickets reviewed from Riot Support staff, I've come to the conclusion that is 100% caused by my ISP's routing + a damaged main drop.
It took me 3 years to figure this out because of Riot's lag compensation and client-side prediction. If these things didn't exist I would've felt my character rubberband and teleport around the map and I instantly would've known something was wrong with my internet. Also, Riot removed the 200ms buffer/cushion for each player on a server to have their shot register. This was also around the time I noticed my shots didn't register anymore. This was to help people with better connections stop dying behind walls. However I'm now dying behind walls in every game for almost every death. I will be moving by the end of the year to a new home with fiber and its 1hour north of Atlanta. I will give an update once I move to see if my internet was truly the reason for this issue.

Re: valorant desync/network ONLY thread
I have a bad internet connection and route from my ISP but I do not teleport around at all even with 1100 FPS in the range. I try to cap my FPS though because Riot Support told me to do so.mel wrote: ↑15 Aug 2025, 06:30one more thing - if anyone here has a really fast pc that can run this game at 800+ frames, please, do this for the sake of experiment:
uncap your fps in practice range and tell me if it makes your character teleport around
i wonder if it was just me or this is telling me something about my network connection - and if so, what it could be?
