Sadly yes, it is still there.

The good news is that Nvidia has already acknowledge the bug and they have repro, it seems to be driver related.

So it's just a matter of time until they find a solution to the problem. Let us hope sooner rather than later.

I'm sad to report that my Acer Predator XB273U F5 is showing severe light leakage along both the left and right sides.

Trigger Event: Switched from an HDR game back to the Windows 11 SDR desktop.

Monitor Behavior: The display automatically rebooted during the HDR-to-SDR mode switch.

Current State: Once the image returned, persistent bright light leaks appeared on both lateral edges. These light leaks have remained "stuck" ever since, regardless of input or desktop/monitor settings.

I even tried rolling back the firmware to see if that would trigger some kind of "hard reset," but unfortunately, nothing worked.

I have already contacted Acer US for a warranty claim, as it would be a real shame to give up on a brand-new monitor. The issue is that for the claim to proceed, I need a physical address in the US—which I don't have, since I live in Argentina and imported the monitor through Amazon US.

I kindly asked them to make an exception, as I've been buying Acer monitors for the last 20 years and wouldn't mind paying for shipping both ways. They have escalated my case to see if we can work something out, and told me to expect a response in the next 48-72 hours. Until then, I have no other option but to patiently wait and hope for the best.

The "full" replacement isn't needed but yes very, very likely LED backlight only problem is replaced, fortunately.

I also tried my luck with Acer Argentina, but they won't honor the warranty under the excuse that the monitor wasn't bought locally (as this model isn't officially sold here).

Truth be told, my expectations are rather low. Even if Acer US shows goodwill, I'll have to assess if round-trip shipping isn't more expensive than simply buying another monitor.

Update: After leaving the monitor completely unplugged from power for 4 days, the edge light leaks have surprisingly reduced.

​Left side: The light leak has almost completely disappeared.

​Right side: Significantly reduced and shifted in color tint.

Given the unexpected improvement, I successfully updated the firmware to 1.1.10.

I'll keep using it normally to see if the remaining glow diffuses further over time. But otherwise the monitor seems fine, GSYNC PULSAR still works at 360hz.

I don't know what happened but one thing is certain, I'll just stick with SDR moving forward, with this particular monitor.

Does anyone have a technical explanation for this? Could physical frame pressure relief, thermal relaxation of the panel layers, or static charge dissipation cause backlight bleed to settle like this after a prolonged cold rest?

BTW I reconnected the monitor today because ACER US reached out, and I wanted to share new photos. That's when I realized the light leaks had notably faded.

Unfortunately Acer US can't process warranty claims without a physical address in the US, but beyond that the attention I have received from them has been excellent.

After using the monitor normally for a few days, the remaining light leaks seem to have settled.

Here is how it looks at max brightness in SDR mode with red, green, and blue backgrounds.

The leaks are always visible, even at minimum brightness, but they are most noticeable at max brightness on black, white, and grey backgrounds.

This is my final update. Acer Argentina won't honor the warranty because the unit was imported from the US, and Acer US won't honor it because I lack a physical US address.

After 20 years of buying Acer monitors, this is the first time I've run into an issue—and it will definitely be the last. I can't trust a company that refuses to stand behind its products and loyal customers.
