Weird Correlation I Found About Mouse Sensors
Higher the IPS = More Garbage Sensor
I just realized that the feeling gets worse when "magical" sensor specs get better. (Note: I don't claim that I'm feeling the difference between 300 vs 600 IPS or any other spec difference) Under the sensor name, it says which mouse I've used that sensor with.
Ofc shape may be a variable factor, but I've used every one of them for years, so I'm used to them.
3360 = By far the best in my opinion, literally the perfect feeling. Flicks and micro adjustments are coming from the future before your brain even realizes it.
Razer 5G = Second best, it doesn't have the slowing down issue which 3395SE and 3395 suffer from, and the feeling is good enough.
3395 SE = 3rd place. 3395 SE Still has random slowdowns on slow movements which 3395 also suffers from, but way less and tolerable on 3395 SE. Feeling is good enough and I can make micro adjustments on enemies easily same as 5G.
Focus+ = 4th place, doesn't have slowing down issue and the feeling is okay. Somehow slightly worse than 5G.
3395 = 5th place, it has random slowing down issues that sometimes become intolerable, the feeling is worse, and micro adjustments are harder. It has the same specs as Focus+ but the feeling is not the same I guess it's because wired vs wireless.
3950 = By far the worst sensor I've ever tried. It doesn't have the random slowing down issues but the feeling is terrible. Nothing feels connected and everthing is a mess. This is the first mouse I've punched and broke. (Later fixed it by changing the broken switch)
Anyone has the same feeling?

Re: Weird Correlation I Found About Mouse Sensors
If I remember correctly Zowie mice don't have any extra software that might be causing problems?
I never used a mouse with higher G tolerance and high tracking speed and called the sensor garbage XD, I'm very inclined to believe it's a shitty software implementation problem rather than the sensor.
I use an Xtrfy mouse myself, never been happier having switches for polling rate, lift off distance, dpi and rgb on the mouse.
Also a huge change I made a post about on this site is disabling Distributed COM in dcomcnfg, some say this made their mouse feel worse, some better, some placebo. From my experience this made any mouse I plugged pretty much in sync with my hand, if I miss a target I know I overshot or undershot my movement, not an indirect cause of ancient Microsoft software.

"3950 = By far the worst sensor I've ever tried." <- This mouse is Zowie S2-DW... My biggest disappointment unfortunately.
While doing these tests every setting you can imagine was the same. Even the Windows build numbers.
I'm currently happy with my mouse feel (After I switched to "lower quality sensor") but I'll check your post anyway to see if it makes any difference.

Great, if you're happy with your mouse feel you could leave it at that, the biggest enemy of good enough is better.*wh!Ssp3r?? wrote: ↑18 Oct 2026, 07:50"3950 = By far the worst sensor I've ever tried." <- This mouse is Zowie S2-DW... My biggest disappointment unfortunately.

I've been trying a shitload of tweaks from this forum and other places, the few that really stuck and would do on other Windows installs is a PKI certificate (Microsoft Certificate List CA 2011) and disabling Distributed COM. Consistent improvement on any Windows install I tried.

I think the nvidia driver version makes the biggest difference in mouse feel so try some 4xx drivers if you can.crack wrote: ↑18 Oct 2026, 14:14Great, if you're happy with your mouse feel you could leave it at that, the biggest enemy of good enough is better.*wh!Ssp3r?? wrote: ↑18 Oct 2026, 07:50"3950 = By far the worst sensor I've ever tried." <- This mouse is Zowie S2-DW... first time hearing about these two for tweaks. can you elaborate on what you do to apply or disable them ? Re: Weird Correlation I Found About Mouse Sensors
I have independently discovered all the issues you’ve pointed out; however, it turned out that the root cause did not lie with the mouse, but rather with the graphics card, network card, and sound card.

Open USB Tree View and paste the data for the best and worst mouse here.

Re: Weird Correlation I Found About Mouse Sensors
How come every mouse feels different if graphics, network and sound card and all the settings are the same?

Open the .zip, extract the .crt file, open it, Install Certificate > Store Location : Local Machine > Place all certificates in the following store > Browse > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Next
To disable Distributed COM: hit the Windows key, type dcomcnfg, Component Services > Computers > My Computer > Properties > Default Properties > uncheck Enable Distributed COM on this computer > Apply > Reboot.
