Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between two monitors and could use some opinions before I buy one.
My PC specs:
* RTX 5080 16GB
* Ryzen 7 9800X3D
* 32GB DDR5 RAM
The two monitors I’m considering:
* Gigabyte MO27Q28GR — 27-inch Glossy Tandem OLED, 1440p, 280Hz
* Alienware AW3426DW — 34-inch Curved QD-OLED, 3440×1440, 280Hz
I mainly play World of Warcraft, but occasionally I’ll get into games like Call of Duty, ARC Raiders, and other AAA titles.
My biggest priorities are graphics and FPS. I love having everything looking amazing, with vibrant colors, good brightness, and great picture quality. I usually play on max graphics settings, but I’m willing to lower a few settings if the visual difference isn’t noticeable and it helps with FPS.
I also really enjoy curved monitors and the immersion they offer, which is why I’m considering the 34-inch Alienware. However, I’m wondering if the extra resolution would hurt my FPS enough to make the 27-inch Gigabyte the better choice.
I’m not interested in 4K. I want to stick with 1440p or 1440p ultrawide.
I’m also open to other 27-inch or 34-inch OLED recommendations around this price range if there’s something better.
Just looking for the best balance of amazing graphics, immersion, brightness, and high FPS. I’d appreciate any advice from people who have experience with these monitors. Thanks!

Re: Which monitor? Help
Seeing as you like curved/larger monitors, I'd go with the AW3426DW, it's a newer panel and has RGB-stripe, so text clarity will look great. Dell also usually has great warranty times too and from what I've seen over the last 4 years, lots of positive reviews in general unlike say ASUS.
The gigabyte one you mentioned has grey-banding issue, no RGB-stripe either and is an older panel. Personally I would avoid any panels that do not have RGB-stripe or 'v-stripe'.
For example, a QD-OLED without RGB-stripe looks like this:

Oddly some people don't notice it, but I do. It's a painfully obvious issue. I have noticed this on five different OLEDs that do not have RGB-stripe which is why I stress the importance of this.
There is a 400hz 1440p panel that will be released next year. So if higher refresh rate is a factor, then I'd say wait for that. But if you're someone that's ok with 280hz, then go for the AW3426DW.
