"At the core of the AGP257FT is an oxide-based Fast IPS panel. Fast-response liquid crystal materials and an advanced panel architecture drive pixels faster than conventional LCD designs, overcoming the voltage-response limits that typically hold LCD panels back at extreme refresh rates."
This is using a BOE panel, different to the LG 1000Hz IPS. Might have better response time performance given that LG one is disappointing.

going to be hard to choose between this 1050hz monitor or the 560hz alienwear oled

Now that you mention these 2 values, I'm starting to believe that display manifacturers are riding the "wave" (the misleading claim of "OLED is 1.5x faster than LCDs") and refusing to give us 1kHz OLED cause of it...
I doubt this BOE panel will be compliant enough to compete with a same refresh rate OLED.

So if OLED and an LCD display have the same refresh rate the former is better? How so?kyube wrote: ↑13 Oct 2026, 09:58Now that you mention these 2 values, I'm starting to believe that display manifacturers are riding the "wave" (the misleading claim of "OLED is 1.5x faster than LCDs") and refusing to give us 1kHz OLED cause of it...

So I remember reading this article here back in 2018 and it changed the way I see TVs forever https://blurbusters.com/blur-busters-la ... -and-hold/
And it's crazy but 1,000Hz displays are now on the market for consumers to buy? Which games can you play on PC that can push 1,000fps if your GPU can manage it?

The material choice & engineering found within OLED panels leads to 0,5 – 1ms gray-to-gray response times, which are as fast or faster than the necessary refreshtime (1000Hz = 1ms), which means that there won't be visible smearing between frames across every possible transition on OLED
LCDs, in comparison, have better & worse transitions depending on the panel techonology in question (some have better rise, others have better fall gray-to-gray response time transitions
~400 / 12k game sample size is capable of running +500FPS on modern hardware.
That's the data I've accumulated.
The amount of games which can do 1k FPS is quite a bit smaller than this ~400 value.
One could technically also run FG on these games and achieve aforementioned 1k FPS target.
I still didn't go through all Unity games & UE4 games found within PCGW though and many games are simply unknown.
But, even if I were to look at it optimistically, I don't expect the value to sky-rocket to 800/1200 games.
Even if it did, it'd be in a much larger game title sample size.
This implies that, 3 – 5% (at best) of the market is ready for +500Hz displays.
The 'playable' games market is even worse for 1k FPS @ 1kHz displays...
