Configuring the XL2430T
Re: Configuring the XL2430T
Just got this monitor and I really like the performance boost in CS GO compared to my HP 2510i. What is the best settings for CS GO on this monitor regarding AMA, blur reduction, hz and so on?
Edit: When i read f.e with text on grey background I get like white shadowing from the letters under the letters, is this normal? Why does it occur?
Kind regards,
Daniel

Maybe this have something to do with the Black equalizer? I have the same problem.fartman wrote:ive also purchased the xl2430T, when i played csgo on 1080P @ 144hz the flashbangs in csgo has end flicker, i resolved that by changing AMA to premium. sometimes the monitor still flickers slightly though.
I dont want to use blur reduction due to input lag, do i need to tweak anything in the service menu for optimal usage of this monitor?

Re: Configuring the XL2430T
Black equalizer is DISABLED in standard picture mode.
It's only enabled in the FPS and RTS gaming modes, and some other custom modes.
black equalizer adjusts the GAMMA, as well as certain color values, depending on the EQ level --at least it did this on the Z monitors.
That's the reason why Black equalizer is DISABLED in any mode where you can adjust the GAMMA, and why the GAMMA is disabled in any mode where you can adjust the EQ (notice that only "user" color is available in any mode where black equalizer is available, on the Z monitors)
There may have been changes to the 2430T for this, but this applies to the Z monitors exactly.

I have a question about double and singel strobe. Is there any cons switching it to single strobe? Someone told me that singel strobe is easier on the eyes, is that correct? I bought this monitor for the benifit of 144hz but also for the eye care and low blue light, but so far it's almost harder on the eyes than my old lcd 60 hz, do you have any answer for this?

- Single strobe ON: one strobe per Hz. At low frequencies, like 60Hz or lower, you'll notice the flickering a lot (I can bear it in games even at 50Hz).
- Single strobe OFF: if Hz < 75 (if I remember correctly), it will strobe twice per Hz. You won't see flickering, but you'll see double image, in a worse way than simple motion blur.
I prefer single strobe on in all situations.

I will use 144 hz most of the time and then I will notice no difference?masterotaku wrote:To put it simple:danne_485 wrote:I have a question about double and singel strobe. Re: Configuring the XL2430T
not sure, i might try to turn single strobe on to see if it helps with the end flicker

Found out some more strange bugs with single strobe off.masterotaku wrote:To put it simple:danne_485 wrote:I have a question about double and singel strobe. I prefer single strobe on in all situations.
First:
Double strobe is at 60-85hz refresh rate, not 60-75hz.
created an 85hz refresh rate with default vertical total (1125), monitor OSD shows 1920x1080@85 (so its identified correctly and using correct strobe widths also), single strobe on=single strobe (85 hz pulse widths, so someone can do the math on the persistence values, not me)
Single strobe off=double strobe at 85 hz (quite ugly)
85 hz does not work with VT 1500/1502 tweak. Monitor pulsates wildly and everything, including the mouse cursor seems to 'skip', very similar to trying to use lightboost at 121-125hz with a 1155 VT. 1350 VT works fine.
Higher than 90hz (not sure if the cutoff is 86, 90 or what) --always- single strobes, but behavior is erratic if single strobe is OFF.
91hz (created this for 91 fps locked games like COD advanced warfare): single strobe ON with VT 1500 works great.
Single strobe OFF single strobes, but refuses to use any strobe pulse or duty changes, just uses defaults, which seems to look like duty is at 20 and phase is at 40 (and that's a guess, it's quite ugly).
100 hz: Always single strobes. Single strobe off accepts and uses custom strobe /phase/duty settings, but won't APPLY them instantly if blur reduction is switched from off to on through the OSD (it will use the defaults). As soon as brightness, duty or phase is changed (or even if single strobe is toggled on and off again), it instantly applies the custom settings (using a preset s-switch or display mode profile avoids this bug)
120hz: same behavior.
144hz: same behavior.
I'd only use double strobe for 30 fps locked games at 60 hz (no benefit whatsoever to single strobing this whatsoever), 50hz (50hz pulse widths seem to be missing, won't single strobe at all, backlight voltage gets overdriven and could damage the backlight, strobe phase at 016+ shuts off the backlight completely; either use double strobe ONLY, or use a VT tweak (1260 or 1360) to force 60hz pulses if you really want seizure inducing 50hz single strobe (50hz single strobing with 60hz backlight pulse widths works if you make a VT tweak 50hz custom resolution)
Re: Configuring the XL2430T
Falkentyne i have problem and i hope that you can help me.. i reset monitor to factory settings and set VT trick.. i used CRU utility and NVIDIA patcher and than my screen starts shaking :O I used CRU utility and set 1500VT but if i opened nvidia control panel there was every value set to 1500VT instead ov vertical timing (1500) - was default.. after i changed it to 1500 (rest values are according your guide) and screen starts shaking :O... but in OSD menu i have always 120hz (not 60hz as you wrote in another post).
thx
