Are you using VT tweaks?
This problem usually -only- happens if strobe phase is set to 100 and you are trying to use a VT tweak, and strobe phase has never been changed previously.

You can reset strobe phase to 0 (usually the best value anyway; 100 was designed to keep the top of the screen crosstalk free like it is in Ligthboost mode while having the 'blurry' bottom covered by the 'Hud' like in counter-strike, but this doesn't work with VT tweaks and is horrible outside of some FPS games; the max phase value with a VT tweak is 49/50 or 58/59--(which also sets strobe duty's effective persistence value (even though the raw duty value doesn't change) to lowest persistence, and one more point of strobe phase sets persistence to 0, which shuts off the backlight), without a VT tweak it's 100, and persistence usually remains the same without being lowered).

You can use the windows utility to set phase to 0 by moving the crosstalk slider to the far let, or you can set it in the service menu.

hey thanks for the quick response! so it turns out i actually did do the VT 1350 and the blur buster strobe utility before turning on blur reduction on the monitor first. so im a little bit lost on how to revert the strobe phase, i didn't see a windows utility. do i change it from the blur buster strobe program? thanks!

It's likely that you didn't touch the crosstalk setting, so the crosstalk setting was at the left but by not touching it you didn't change anything.
Try moving it to the right a bit and then to the left again. Then try 120Hz.
Anyway, if you have blur reduction assigned to one of the three monitor shortcuts, you can check if this is really the problem you have and not any other kind of error.
