The XL2420Z and 2720Z have a VGA port. So you would use that.
Does the 2411Z not have a VGA port? If not, you need to use HDMI.

Re: Xl2411z connection problem
the reason why i need to use dvi-dl is so i can use the 120fps. the vga doesnt support that. does anyone know which adapter i should use?
Re: Xl2411z connection problem
But... if your laptop only has a VGA output, then it won't push 120Hz through it even if you have Dual-Link DVI on the other end of the cable.
Re: Xl2411z connection problem
i research a bit and there is a converter. would that be an option or i have to buy a pc? i was planning to buy a new desktop anyways its my next goal
Re: Xl2411z connection problem
Maybe I'm missing something, but how can this be physically possible? I mean, if the VGA output is only physically capable of sending out 60 frames per second at 1080p, then no converter will "force" this connector to somehow pull any more frames out of your laptop.
Maybe there are converters that would take these 60 frames they get from VGA and simply repeat each of them twice so that you will see the 120 Hz option on your monitor, but you will still see just 60 frames each second, but each would be displayed twice.
