How to properly take a photo of an LCD display?

Post by Kreon » 22 Mar 2015, 11:25

I have this: http://www.acer.ru/ac/ru/RU/content/model/UM.VS6EE.002
Image

and this: [url=http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/ ... AndManuals]Canon PowerShot A4000 IS[/url

What I want:
1. take a proper image of black level (black screen) and backlight bleeding
2. Take a more or less decent color picture to check any gamma shift.

Problem is - I know nothing about photography and how to make a proper photo of an LCD display. Which settings should I look into for each photo (black/colors)? My camera allows me to set up Exposure, White Point Balance (auto-preset-manual), shutter speed (1''-15''), ISO 100-1600, flash on/off.

Any tips would be appreciated.
