DisplayPort over USB 3, anyone try it?

Talk about AMD's FreeSync and VESA AdaptiveSync, which are variable refresh rate technologies. They also eliminate stutters, and eliminate tearing. List of FreeSync Monitors.

DisplayPort over USB 3, anyone try it?

Hey guys, another question. Have you heard that USB 3 can act as the transport for a DisplayPort signal? If so, has anyone tried it?

I'd like to know if there's a way to get a Freesync / adaptive sync signal to a TV with USB 3, like one of the new Samsung HDR / 10 bit UHD Tvs that just came out at Best Buy.

They only have HDMI 2 and USB 3 ports on them, not displayport. I was wondering if the USBs are just the physically connector / transport for a displayport signal, in which case adaptive sync / free sync might be supported.
