Can't run 2411z 1920x1080 @ 120+fps with dvi cables on Win7
Hi guys. I stumbled upon your site after searching various forums trying to figure out why my monitor is capped at 60 fps. I bought it about a month ago, and am mostly satisfied, except for not being able to actually use the thing to its fullest. Occasionally I play Quake and Wolfnstein: Enemy Territory. Having to lower my resolution to 1024x768 just to get 120fps is pretty irritating, especially since it moves my icons all over the place constantly.
So what gives? What am I missing?

Goto "Screen Resoultion" by right clicking on the desktop and then click "Advanced settings". Click on the "Monitor" tab at the top and able to change the HZ of your monitor from there.

Did you use the DVI cable that came with it or your own.

The slot on the video card is DVI-D dual link. I researched that stuff before purchasing the monitor, and thought it would work out of the box.

Stinky
Your port is NOT dual link at all.
It's single link.
the holes are only there for compatibility reasons.
It's electrically single link.
You are limited to 60 hz at 1920x1080 on that card.
That's the lowest end r9 card on the market.

if you want a dual ink and 120 hz/144hz, you need to buy a more high end card.

Thanks so much for that info. Why would it be setup that way? That's pretty absurd. My old Viewsonic VX2253 is apparently 120hz as well, but now I know why it's always been stuck at 60.
Are there any cards in the 200 dollar range that would be able to physically run this at 144hz, 1920x1080? What's the best resource for me to figure that out?

Plenty of cards in the $200 range are over 5 times more powerful than that card you have.
