Sounds like you have a cable issue of some sort then, a bad connector or something else. Because no one ever had this type of problem. This is the first time I've ever heard of this problem. Especially after flashing back!
And since you flashed back to V3 and not get an EDID error, I really have no idea what's going on

Hold on, I've done something.

I replugged the monitor and it started working. I've checked the firmware and it is v0003 now.

BUT, it's still classified as Generic NON-PNP monitor. So, basically, not much changed even thought I've went back to original firmware.

Any ideas?

edit2: So, are we back to square 1? Considering this is the same backup the monitor came, there has to be something wrong, right? I just don't know what it can be.

last edit: It is 5 am here and I really need to sleep. I should be up in 8 hours, hopefully someone here will come up with a potential solution here. I really hope the monitor is not damaged.

Update: I used a vga->DVI connector in order to test the D-Sub slot of the monitor, and windows recognizes it. So the only problem is the DVI mode I think. As far as I remember, I can also use the display port in order to reach 144hz and do everything I want to do with DVI. I'll go out and buy a dp cable today and test if everything works.


I still think the monitor is somehow doesn't finalize the flashing OR stuck in some weird mode which doesn't allow the port I used for flashing, to become normal again. Like some sort of "flashing" mode where it doesn't allow the slot to do anything else. The monitor itself knows what the firmware is, and only the port (DVI) I used for flashing seems to cause trouble. Even the Nvidia control panel knows what the monitor is. There has to be something I can do about this. I seriously doubt this is a hardware issue.

I see. Might be a motherboard (BIOS) / i2c problem. Can you flash it with a different system?

Alright, here is what happened. I 've bought a DisplayPort cable and everything works perfectly. System knows its driver, and can do everything I want to do, including changing the hz to 144, adjusting with Blur Busters Strobe Utility etc..

So, the problem is the DVI port and not the monitor itself. Somehow, it doesn't transfer the actual info of the port, so system doesn't recognize it. Not sure how else to explain this.

I can use my pc to flash it maybe? My motherboard has only DisplayPort and HDMI, so I guess I have to use my video card, which is GTX680. Do you think it would cause problems to use my actual video card? Has anyone done it here before? I read the whole topic but I can't remember at the moment, so many posts get confusing after a while.

I couldn't find anything directly related to legacy bios when I checked, only csm (compatibility support module) that was enabled but unfortunately (to my knownledge) has no effect for flashing my monitor.

I'll wait until my girlfriend gets back with her laptop to see if that works and keep on looking for a MSTAR ISP for loan on a Finnish forum (and through my own connections).

I'll get back here once I've tried to find the correct bus on another laptop.

Flashing with my Nvidia card now using the DVI port. It was on bus0, lucky me.

No problems occured. BUT, DVI port still in the same condition as before. It is like the port itself is not active or something. Since I am able to flash the thing using that port, and can actually get picture from the port (although it is only 60hz stupid picture), there has to be SOMETHING to reactive the DVI port. I just don't know what it can be.

Connected through the DisplayPort now and everything looks good. Will try the new AMA setting in a bit.

UPDATE: Tried the new hidden AMA setting. Not sure if I've done it right, but the "brief" flashing is very brief. But I guess it works. Tried the ufo test, and ghosting is VERY low on upper part of the screen. Lower ufo's are quite blurry/distorted however. I remember reading some stuff about it in previous posts. I'll check if I can find something to make it better.

So, conclusion: DVI port doesn't work, DP port works. Tried flashing in two systems, one was a laptop(DVI port on gtx580M), the other one is my pc (DVI port on gtx680). Both times went smoothly EXCEPT the fact that the DVI port is not recognized by the system anymore. Don't know how to fix that

Have you tried resetting the setting with CRU? It might work. Windows saves the display settings at the port you are currently using. I messed up mine so I had to change DP-port to get picture and reset the settings.

Try it out you have nothing to loose.
