It's already out now, but it has a firmware bug. I'd wait until the firmware bug is confirmed fixed first.
I don't think it's already out i cant find any shop who has it here in Germany.

Also really looking forward to the XL2420Z. The XL2420TE has come back in stock at retailers but its 30% more expensive. :shock:

Is mid February still the consensus for the XL2420Z in the US?

I noticed they were back in stock I did not expect that and the price is insane. might be going with the asus instead now :(

XL2420Z are now showing in the BENQ store and out of stock. Apparently some people ordered a few last night

nice to see the price on the benq store is a more sane $399 vs the $499 for the amazon pre-order

Amazon has started shipping! Unfortunately they're also out of stock and the price is still $499. Hopefully Amazon and BenQ will restock soon.

I spoke to a chat representative last night and they told me they would have more in stock first week of February.

They might be subject to the same bug that the XL2720Z is currently shipping with;
Tests will be needed to determine if they are also affected as well.

I just got this response from BenQ text. I asked if the units that are for sale from the Benq site were fixed.

"The FW of all the on hand or sold monitors are with no strobe timing
issues.
Only the one that Blurbuster testing has issue, however, the one that
Blurbuster was testing is actually the engineering sample, not the MP
sample."

I waited one week for this response. I had to prod them to get the above answer. They did not even understand what I was asking when I mentioned the strobe timing issue.

I wonder what the AG coating will be like? From google searching the XL2420T\E was supposed to have the same coating as the Asus VG248QE but in reality it was more sparkly than the Asus. I had both of these monitors side by side.

My wishlist for the XL2420Z is a better AG coating and fixing the backlight bleed. If they come true we are talking monitor of the year!
