XL2546 factory reset?

Post by SilentMarket » 11 Oct 2017, 09:16

I tried Strobe Utility to see if it can clear double image.

But the result got a worse double image and more uneven in UFO crosstalk test.

I want to get back to default settings.

How to get default strobe settings in Zowie XL2546 monitor? I tried service menu, Intensity is 10 and Area is 10. I also got into factory menu to Clearuser. But the monitor doesn't look like as motion-clear as before. Now it shows double and even triple image in UFO test.

No one knows exactly what's going on with XL2546?

Question: Did you make any tweaks with CRU?
If so, then run the ToastyX "reset-all.exe" to remove all Vertical Total tweaks.

When you uninstall Strobe Utility, it does not reset Intensity or Area settings. To fix Intensity and Area, do this:
1. Load http://www.testufo.com/crosstalk
2. While the animation is zoomed to full screen mode, adjust "Area" until the strobing looks best in screen centre.

Then you're back to normal, just the way BenQ calibrated it. There is always double-images and triple-images with XL2546 240Hz strobing at the top/bottom. Many don't notice it because it is calibrated to be clearest (single image) in the screen centre. Intensity is adjusted to user preference, Area is the one that affects the crosstalk more.

Once you fixed the adjustments, please post your Intensity and Area settings. It's possible that the narrow range of Strobe Utility is preventing you from adjusting more optimally. (Unfortunately, we don't currently have an XL2546, so your known settings would be appreciated!).

I didn't use CRU.

I'll adjust area settings from 0-100 to see the difference. Right now the best setting is still Area 10, intensity 10
