How Consistently do the Acer Predator 144hz panels overclock

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

How Consistently do the Acer Predator 144hz panels overclock

Post by HyperSlayer72 » 11 Apr 2018, 12:24

Title Says it all.
Monitors in Quesiton:
XB241H bmipr
XB271H Abmiprz

How Much of a chance would I have to get one of these to 165hz/180hz without problems?
Extra Question, does the g-sync range extend to these overclocked refresh rates?

I don't think g-sync monitors are overclockable? But maybe I'm wrong.

I assumed they could be based on this. https://i.imgur.com/PN7vAwU.jpg
Or are you saying that g-sync won't be active while a panel is in a overclocked state?

This isn't an overclock done by you. This ships with 180Hz support out of the box, since it's an option in the monitor's OSD. If you try to overlock it past the supported refresh, you will get a blank screen.

No, I'm saying that you will get a blank screen with an error saying that the signal is out of range or unsupported.

Yea, you can OC G-Sync, i've OCed a 144hz to 153hz at 1080p and 198hz at lower resolutions.

But idk if you can OC the Acer Predator 144hz. The only way to tell if you can OC it is by trying it out yourself.

Mine was suuper easy. In the menu on the monitor, you just go down to overclocking and press yes on it. The monitor then reboots and 165hz becomes an option that windows can use. Haven't had any issues with it.
