i have an asus pg258q
and i noticed in some videos color banding in dark ares
my question : is this normal for tn panels (6bit+frc)
is there a way to fix it ?

Banding is usually already existent in the source material and is not the monitor's fault. If you post a screenshot here, we'd be able to tell.

That's not what I meant. I meant a screenshot of the banding, not a photo of your monitor.

First thing to do is set gamma to 2.4 in the monitors menu. TFT central found this setting to be truer to the desired 2.2 gamma. This will help darken the middle of the brightness curve and reduce contrast in the dark areas that often have banding on encoded video. In exchange the brighter areas will have enhanced contrast and in my experience this is very welcome.
