Quick question. Will it be possible to fix the bug in the future or do I have to get a replacement?

They accept returns in 7 days, BUT the customer must pay the shipping costs. Unless it's a RMA, but probably this bug won't be enough for them...
I cancelled my preorder, and today there's stock, shipping in 2 or 3 days. I opened a support ticket asking about the bug, but they told me they couldn't know unless I bought it and opened the box.
If someone buys it, let us know. Let's hope that the XL2411Z has the new firmware by default.

4. If it was succesfully where can we Donate you XD (My first TFT in the 2000s had a pixel error and i had a 9 week horror with ACER (i lied and said it is complete defect, because one always on green Subpixel ( close to the center) was not enough to get a new one :( => so i was very happy to get a new one. But it was a NO GO for me in a new 350€ product.
BENQ prefers that you return the monitor and get a replacement. If the original vendor is not willing to replace the monitor, there are some channels within BENQ where you can get the monitor replaced directly. But first, wait a little while longer.

That said, if you were to obtain the firmware from one of the several sources
1. The software is usually included with the flash upgrader (as BENQ sent it to me as well) but often found online as "MSTAR ISP Upgraded".
2. It is higher risk than average firmware upgrade.
3. Unofficially -- if you are one of the people who already bought the upgrader, send me a PM and I will see what I can do for you for you.
4. Blur Busters does accept contributions (including in kind) at http://www.blurbusters.com/contribute -- The best way is to shop through Blur Busters Amazon links!

I understand that you really like your XL2720Z despite the bug, so you would probably be one of those people who will become even more pleased with the improved firmware. So for you, upon successful upgrade, you probably wouldn't desire downgrading to the previous firmware anyway!

Chief,

Regarding the MSTAR unit,

Should I be worried if I ordered the one you previously specified on Aliexpress? The vendor doesn't seem to sell the item anymore..

They could check it, if they take a look at the firmware, which is outside on the package right below the serial number.
On the XL2720z it was "Rev: 00-120-BA". Might be something similar for the 2411z.

Which number is the fixed firmware?

Hi,

I've picked up the XL2720Z monitor last week from a local Australian reseller.

Firslty the display is great, no issues. However I was advised to come to this site and perform the test and yes my monitor has this so called bug.

Firslty let me say that during normal gameplay at 144Hz with motion blur on, I cannot notice any fault, so for me this is not a real issue, I prefer to have motion blur off because the reduced brightness is not ideal for me.

I've read quite alot of posts about a new F/W that will improve the motion blur reduction feature. If we have the required hardware /software, how do we get a copy of this firmware. According to BenQ Australia there wont be any F/W update available for customers.

Please help

My question is why Benq have not officially acknowledged this bug. The only place talking about a firmware upgrade is blurbusters. Is there going to be a firmware update or not. If Benq are not making any statements about this why should we believe what is on these forums?? Why would Benq tell someone here that it is working on a firmware update but not acknowledge it publicly?? Here in Australia they state that they were not aware of any bug and according to salko there will not be any firmware update from Benq at all!!

I'm having difficulty in establishing what is fact and what is fiction. So what is really going on?? Unless Benq state officially that there is a bug in the firmware and they are working on an update there is no firmware update.

And as far as updated versions of this monitor goes, unless someone actually receives on with this so called firmware update again, there is no firmware update.

Does anyone here have so called updated firmware?? Do the latest shipments have the update?? No one seems to know. 21 pages of conjecture and rumours and with no official response from Benq at all. What does that say!!

In my opinion Benq is not acknowledging this bug because according to Benq there is no bug. Just a poor implementation of blur reduction that will never be fixed on this monitor. They announced a G version of this monitor soon after the Z was released and if this issue is going to be fixed it will be on this version. As far as Z owners are concerned we are going to be stuck with this problem and it will never be addressed by Benq.

Please, someone prove me wrong!!
