The new AUO Optronics 0.5ms panels are showing incredible promise from early visitors at Computex 2018.
Better colors, better viewing angles, and 0.5ms pixel response.
MSI Oculux NXG251 240Hz G-SYNC Monitor
I don't know how ghosting will look, so we'll need to see first impressions.

Very good. I was thinking about buying ViewSonic XG2560 but sadly it is not available in Europe... and apparently it will never be.
So i might just wait for these improved panels... and hoping that ViewSonic will bring 240Hz+GSYNC to Europe one day

Nice to see newer revisions of 240hz so fast. It's funny reading the Asus article, considering my thread. This pretty much confirms these panels were premature

:
Reportedly, the panel is optimized for 240 Hz operation unlike the 24.5″ panels. The 24.5″ panels were not originally manufactured with 240 Hz in mind and had to be tuned by monitor manufacturers to 240 Hz operation.
Glad I didn't waste $550 beta testing and returned my first 240hz and will likely grab one of these newer revisions. This confirmed a long standing saying, never buy the first model of a new product to the market, they always have issues that get fixed in revisions later on.

Looks very promising. Maybe with these faster new panels, Nvidia will decide to make GSYNC's ULMB to work at full 240hz, and vendors start overclocking 240hz panels to 300hz at least

GSYNC's ULMB to work at full 240hz
I didn't even think about that! That was my guess anyways why they didn't want to provide 240 ULMB because they didn't any crosstalk. I'm probably going to sell my 240hz and get one.
Definitely going to hack around with the timing and see what i can get working
Hopefully it's a good as they say!

Well, I'm just supposing, if currently Nvidia doesnt provide ULMB at 240hz because current panel transition times isnt enough to perform perfectly clean 240hz strobing, then new AUO "0,5ms" panels may really become a breakthrough. I love strobing and definintely will be happy if clean 240hz strobing become reality (also not bad if new displays could be overclockable e.g. to 280-300hz)

I know you're just speculating, a man can dream
Don't forget about ULMB+G-Sync 240hz

Great news. Maybe I will finally buy a 24'' 1440P 240HZ TN with GSYNC support as my secondary monitor.
IMO,
IPS glow is completely disaster. I only accept EIZO/NEC pro-grade IPS with polarizer.
TN's viewing angle and color performance is awful. Also, I'm unsatisfied with the G2G of 1st gen 240HZ TN panels.
VA has very noticeable ghosting in dark scene. Contrast is really good only in the center of the screen.

I'm only interested in 27".... 1080p.
Hopefully they become available this year.
If Benq'd make a newer version of the XL2740.... XL2746 for example, that uses the new 0.5ms panels and has DyAc... I'd be in heaven.

so is there any technical reason why this monitor doesn't have strobing option at all?
