There is no such thing as low lag esports on consoles.
I mean
relatively speaking.
Not all latencies are the same in all monitors. Even when're categorizing only to consoles.
So let's consider the lag invited by monitors like the
BenQ RL2460 Console eSports monitor (and its similar, e.g. RL2455HM, etc) tended to be the benchmark in "low lag" for the category of console gaming monitors.
Yes, it is not as low lag as a high-Hz monitor for PC as shown in many of tests. But in the console world, the territory of latency in such monitors have been considered the gold benchmark standard for consoles (approximately, give or take) == and any monitors laggier than that is typically not considered fit for console eSports. Low lag console gaming monitors are the ones that measure no higher than approximately ~9 to 12ms for screen-centre using the Leo Bodnar lag tester.
That said, there are compromises like having to go TN panel, or giving up FreeSync. Now if you're focussed on the quality of console gaming, then the Samsung VA panels are almost certainly preferable for most people for console gaming.
The Samsung VA monitors are good low-lag-wise for VA panel category (I've seen WAY worse VA), just not as low as TN. They're not as eSports-low as the eSports-targetted console gaming monitors -- even most competitive gamers will not notice unless the top players that play for tournament money. Yes, console eSports exist. And yes, this is why the market exists. But if that's not you, then I tend to prefer the Samsung GHG70 series for the better eyecandy aspect. Right tool for the right job, the lowest-lag monitors often aren't the ones with the best colors/contrast/features.
