I recently bought an Acer XF270H Bbmiiprzx (1920x1080 144 hz) with freesync for my xbox one x. I have seen conflicting information on forums that it either does or does not support freesync over HDMI (required for xbox one x to gain the benefit of freesync). The AMD freesync list website (https://www.amd.com/en/products/freesync-monitors) has the XF270H B listed as supporting
48-144 via DisplayPort and 48-144 via HDMI. However, I have seen other forums where people say this monitor does not support freesync over HDMI. Questions are:
1) Is the XF270H Bbmiiprzx considered to be the "XF270H B" on the Acer website
2) Are there any other websites that confirm this?
I trust the AMD website, but seemed strange that many people were posting on other forums that it does not support freesync over HDMI.
Thanks!

Hmmmm.
This one stumps me a bit as I do see the conflicting info.
I wonder if this is a firmware issue affecting units, or if this is a website error.

It’s funny because Acer America answered a question about this on Amazon with “HDMI and DP ports support a Freesync range of 48Hz-242Hz“. It’s a 144hz monitor and can’t go to 242hz.....

Keep in mind that Amazon reviews are often merged for the same manufacturer's 144Hz monitor and 240Hz monitor.thadmaster35 wrote:It’s funny because Acer America answered a question about this on Amazon with “HDMI and DP ports support a Freesync range of 48Hz-242Hz“. In the purchase page, you've often got selectable buttons for the monitor sub-model with different refresh rates, but the Amazon Reviews are merged for all of them.
I think Acer was referring to their 240Hz monitor.

Oh yeah, makes sense. That gives me more confidence the 144 hz may actually support freesync over HDMI.

I have... HOWEVER, occasionally seen minor errors on AMD's site. For example, an input that was supposed to support FreeSync didn't support FreeSync. Or it affected certain firmwares.thadmaster35 wrote:Oh yeah, makes sense. That gives me more confidence the 144 hz may actually support freesync over HDMI.
Hate adding second doubting -- but I wanted to add that caveat that sometimes there's inconsistencies between that has popped up due to firmware differences. For example, the Samsung CHG series FreeSync monitors had its FreeSync range upgraded via a firmware upgrade. So mismatch between the list and the monitor can exist, depending on situations like this.

Thanks! After several phone calls to Acer America, one of their engineers responded and confirmed that this monitor does support Freesync over both HDMI and DisplayPort.
