Alienware OLED Monitor - 4K/120 Hz 55" DP 1.4

High Hz on OLED produce excellent strobeless motion blur reduction with fast GtG pixel response. It is easier to tell apart 60Hz vs 120Hz vs 240Hz on OLED than LCD, and more visible to mainstream. Includes WOLED and QD-OLED displays.

Alienware's 55-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor is pure eye candy

Now Dell is getting into big screen gaming displays.

An expensive display in 2019 without HDMI 2.1 support to me is a big no. DisplayPort 1.4 can´t handle 4k @ 120hz with chroma 4:4:4 + HDR. To me any display more expensive than 800€ in 2019 and without HDMI 2.1 is a bad investement.

Not to mention that DP 1.4 can't go past 4K 98hz in HDR10 mode without dropping to 4:2:2, unless DSC is supported. I'd love to find out.

Personally, I rip all my legally purchased content to my PC for playback so I don't need HDMI, but 4:2:2 is a dealbreaker as I do not want to switch refresh rates when using my next 4K monitor for text.

HDMI 2.1 can't become standard soon enough. I wouldn't personally buy a monitor that can't do 4:4:4 at its max refresh rate. Still, if this one had 96 Hz in 4:4:4 and 120 Hz in 4:2:2 that'd be OK I guess. Or 120 Hz via DP 1.4 in 4:4:4 via DSC.

Exactly! Not in 2019 at least. In 2017/2018 at beast, I would invest. Right now is a big risk. Navi, next 7nm GPUs, next gen consoles, they all will support HDMI 2.1. This kind of displays are expensive. I like to make good investments.

Imo the best investment right now is gonna be LG oled 4k 120hz HDR HDMI 2.1 FreeSync 2 offers.

Any word on the input lag for this thing? Would it be faster than other LG TVs despite having the same panel?

well that's disappointing, it doesn't have any less input lag than the LG TVs
